This mornings SALT service at St. Andrews Church is now available on our YouTube Channel for you to catch up on some of the action 😁

After the service, in recognition of their work as volunteers within the church a few of our congregation members stayed back for some photographs in aid of Volunteers Week, which finishes today.

Disclaimer: these fab individuals are part of an amazing bigger team that help within our Parish.

A Prayer for a Friday

This week has been Volunteers Week in the UK from the 1st to 7th June. This week the Friday prayer thinks in particular of all those who give of themselves with no expectation of recognition or reward. Those who believe in giving the most precious gift we can offer … our time … for others.

"The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, and the fruit of service is peace." – Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Lord God, Our Father

As another week draws to a close and the weekend beckons we think of those who have given of themselves, their time and their talents in service of others.

To aid and assist; to teach and to guide; to care and to nourish; to cater and serve; to build and create; to keep essential services running; as an individual or as a part of a team.

Jesus be beside them in their efforts, in their hearts.

Give them what they need to suceed, strength when they are weary, hope when they doubt, let them know in their hearts how much what they do is appreciated in this world and that the difference they make matters.

In Jesus name we pray, Jesus who gave his time, his life so we may know his father better.

Amen

A Prayer for the Parish

Members of the congregation this evening walked out together with the aim to pray.

Topics wove in and of conversations as they walked and when they stopped this was the prayer they spoke.

Lord God,

We come to you through your son Jesus
We thank you for another day.
A chance for us to look around this wonderful gift you’ve given us.

Sometimes we are not conscious of the words we wish to say to you but the time and
the place often gives this to us.

We often look for a reason why our lives are following the path it is, why things happen, and we feel that we are being tested.

You remind us that you have a path for us.

What for you will no go by ye.
Your dots not on your card yet

Therefore let us give thanks for our blessings, the, small moments, grateful for the trophies we gather such as kindness, caring, love compassion.

And why we are here at the top of Threecockair Woods we thank you for the opportunity to learn about this district, the Parish, its communities, shared memories, good and bad.

Please stay with with people of the Parish as they go about their daily lives, and we ask you to watch over us as we look forward to our next prayer adventure.

Amen
