We are absolutely delighted to formally announce that we have a new Rector of Andover Parish. 🙌

Reverend Canon Peter Harwood was welcomed formally last night at his Institution & Induction service led by Bishop Philip Mounstephen and Archdeacon Richard Brand. A very special thank you to all those involved in preparing for this service (from cleaning the church 🧼 to the ministry of cake 🍰) - it was a wonderful celebration of this new chapter.

If you haven't yet had the chance to say hello to Peter, he will be rotating between all the churches on repeat this Autumn as he bring us a vision sermon series from the book of Ephesians. 📖 He looks forward to meeting you!

Our next women's "Essence Gathering" will be on Saturday 20th of September at St Paul's Andover, 9am-10:30am.

This month we have Marina Colville coming to speak to us from Luke 10:38-42 about the story of Mary & Martha. Natalie Wrighton will also share a testimony alongside the talk, so we're very much looking forward to an encouraging morning (and plenty of eating)!

We'll be having bacon baps again 🥓(with vegan "facon" version and GF options available), so please indicate upon sign up whether you would like one. And if you fancy bringing something you share, you are most welcome! 🥯

We're joining in with the Global Week of Prayer next week, 1st-7th of September. 🙏

In Matthew 6:6-13, Jesus begins his instruction with the words: "When you pray..." - a clear message that we are called to be prayerful people and to pray for the needs of not only ourselves, but each other and our world.

You might have seen we recently announced in our services and newsletter that Reverend Canon Peter Harwood has been selected to be the next Rector of Andover Parish. 🙌

Peter and his wife Clare are currently preparing to make the move from Guildford to Andover and we’d love to invite you to pray for them. Peter has been serving as Director of Mission at the Guildford Diocese (and previously Vicar of Christ Church Woking for 18 years) and Clare as a Family Support Worker in a local Primary School.

They said: “In recent months, we’ve felt a growing sense that God was calling us into something new. When we visited Andover a few months ago, we were struck by what God was doing around the place, your heart for mission and the commitment to build God’s church across the whole Parish."

Peter will be licensed in late September and we are very much looking forward to their official arrival.

💬 Kate Seagrave who has been our Acting Rector in the Parish this year will be finishing up her last Sunday with us on the 14th of September.

We will be hosting a final service for her at 10am, St Paul’s Church, followed by a bring & share picnic. 🧺 We have opened up a gift fund which you can donate to if you would like as a way of thanking her for her ministry with us. She will be continuing in her role as Diocesan Missioner which she has worked alongside her time with us. Please pray for her! 🙏
