DRUM ROLL...
Alyth Parish Kirk Shop celebrates its 24th year with another amazing result!
Alyth Parish Church fundraising team have once again pulled off an incredible Kirk Shop which was held in Airlie Street Hall last week. In only 43 hours of being open, the team of volunteers raised an amazing £13,007 which was £307 more than last year’s result! 🤩🤩🤩
Audrey Young, Ruth Jolly and Elasaidh Mollison have been organising the Kirk Shop for 24 years with the only gap in the annual event being the pandemic years. Almost every year the total has grown which is incredible given that all funds have been raised from recycling and upcycling Alyth and the surrounding area! This year's total was only £401 off 2024’s record result but even more incredible is that in 24 years the Kirk Shop has raised a whopping £206,796!! 🤩🤩🤩 That’s a lot of 50pence, £1.00 and £2.00 items!!
One local business also provided its services free of charge - massive thanks to Lawrence MacFarlane Electrical www.lawrencemacfarlaneelectrical.co.uk who provided electrical checks – every single electrical item we sell is portable appliance tested (PAT) and only passed items are for sale. Without Lawrence’s help we would have to turn down the many electrical item donations so we very much appreciate his support too!
The Alyth Parish Kirk Shop is always truly a community event and we thank every single person who has been involved in any way this year and over the years. We love the Kirk Shop week and are already looking forward to next year’s 25th anniversary event!

2026 Kirk Shop - The Countdown Is On!

It’s getting near that time of year again!! Time to look out all your unwanted bits and bobs and set them aside for our annual recycling event in Alyth.

This year the shop will run from Monday 6th July to Saturday 11th July.

As usual, our hours will be 10am – 4pm, and 6pm – 8pm Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 12.30pm on Saturday

Donations can be left at Airlie Street Hall on
Friday 3rd July, 6pm – 8pm or Saturday 4th July, 9am to 11am only.

Donations are also most welcome during shop hours throughout the week.

For those who haven’t yet experienced the Kirk Shop, (yes maybe there are a few!!!!), we accept kitchenalia, china, glassware, textiles, books, pictures, jigsaws, sporting goods, toys and much more.

A daily raffle gives an opportunity to be a lucky winner!

Come along for a browse, banter and a cuppy accompanied by some delicious home baking. Everyone is very welcome.

One visit is usually not enough! New items come in each day so it’s definitely worth returning. There will be something you simply can’t live without, or simply pop in for a blether to keep the morale going for the many
volunteers who work their socks off all week!
