🎶 COMMUNITY SONGS OF PRAISE 🎶

Sunday 12th July
4.00pm
Alvechurch Baptist Church

As part of our 200th Anniversary celebrations, we'd love you to join us for a special afternoon of singing, memories, thanksgiving, and community.

Whether you've attended church all your life, occasionally popped through the doors, or simply enjoy a good sing, this event is for you!

🎵 Sing well-loved hymns and worship songs
💬 Hear the stories and memories behind the songs people have chosen
🤝 Connect with others from across the community

Many of life's most memorable moments have a song attached to them - a wedding, a funeral, a family tradition, a difficult season, or a time of great joy. Come and share in an afternoon that celebrates the songs that have shaped our lives and our community.

If you would like to choose a hymn or worship song and briefly share why it's special to you, please contact Barbara Parker.

Everyone is warmly welcome, bring your family, friends, neighbours, and anyone who enjoys singing.

🎉 Come and help us celebrate 200 years of faith, fellowship, and community with a good old-fashioned sing!

📣 Important Update 📣

Unfortunately, due to complications following a recent accident, Dr Rev Hazel Sherman is not currently able to travel and will therefore be unable to join us to lead our worship on Sunday 14th June.

As a result, the planned Bring & Share Lunch will also not be going ahead.

We are disappointed not to be welcoming Hazel at this time, but her health and recovery are the priority. We hope to reschedule her visit once she is well enough to travel.

Please keep Hazel in your prayers as she recovers, and we look forward to welcoming her to ABC later in the year.

Thank you for your understanding. 💙

Lego Church is happening this Half Term at ABC

We’re excited to be running a couple of Lego Church sessions during the upcoming school half-term and we’d love you to join us!

Monday 25th & Wednesday 27th May

3:00 - 5:00pm

in the Large Hall at ABC

Come along for two fun-filled afternoons of building, creativity, friendship, and faith!

We’ll be using Lego to explore Bible stories together, and we’re hoping to create some brand-new Lego Bible story videos during the sessions too.

All children are welcome - there’s no need to be a regular churchgoer. Just bring your imagination and enjoy getting stuck in!

Squash and biscuits will be provided for all participants.

We’d love to see you there!

Aimed at 6-11 year olds, although all Lego lovers are welcome.

Caregivers must stay and supervise their children.

No cost - just come along, build, and have fun!

What an enjoyable night was had at our “Merrie England” evening!

From the moment the Alvechurch Morris Men started things off, the hall was full of smiles, laughter, and a real sense of old England brought to life. And then came the best part… an invitation to join in... and some did!

There’s something very special about watching a room go from spectators to participants.

The dancing was followed with a proper fish & chip supper and an Old England–themed quiz that had just the right mix of friendly rivalry and laughter.

A genuinely joyful evening of community, connection, and fun - the kind you don’t forget quickly.

We’d love to know:
If you were there, what was your favourite moment?
And if you weren’t… would you have joined in the dancing or stayed safely in your seat? 😄
