🌿 Christ Church – A HUGE Thank You! 🌿
Earlier this year, we found out that the Community Payback team would no longer be able to come to Christ Church to help maintain our churchyard.
This presented us with a real challenge. We had no lawnmowers, no strimmers and, most importantly, not enough people to keep the churchyard looking cared for. With warm, wet weather and the grass growing rapidly, we knew we needed to do something!
So, we put out an appeal for help…
And the response has been truly wonderful! ❤️
Some people generously donated funds which have enabled us to purchase 4 new lawnmowers and 3 new strimmers.
Others donated equipment they no longer needed at home — with some even having their equipment serviced before donating it to us. What an incredibly kind gesture!
But most importantly, around 38 people have volunteered their time each month to help mow and strim, pick up litter, empty bins, dig out weeds and generally help care for our churchyard.
Our volunteers come from other churches in the village, as well as from people who have no church affiliation at all. It really is a wonderful community effort. 💚
Thanks to everyone who has offered their time, we now have five teams. Four teams each mow and strim once a month, meaning a team is out working in the churchyard each week, while another team looks after specific plots.
So, on behalf of everyone who visits and enjoys the grounds at Christ Church, we would like to say a massive THANK YOU to every single person who has volunteered, donated money or equipment, or helped in any way.
Your generosity has already made — and will continue to make — such a difference. 🌳🌼
And if you would like to join our wonderful team, even if you can spare just a couple of hours a month, we would love to hear from you.
Please get in touch with the Christ Church office for more information.
Thank you! ❤️
