NEWS | Police provide update following number of burglary offences at churches across Herefordshire. 🚨

From West Mercia Police:

“We have seen a number of burglary offences at churches across Herefordshire in the past few months.

“These deplorable offences have also been taking place in Worcestershire and Shropshire.

“We are pleased to report that following some excellent teamwork, with the support of our roads policing team and intelligence units, two people have been arrested. We are also appealing for your help in identifying the safe shown in the image below.

“If you have any thoughts on where it has been taken from please get in touch. Thanks for your help and support we really do appreciate it.”

We’re so looking forward to the upcoming recitals by the wonderfully talented, classical guitarist Carlo Fierens, which are taking place next week at St. Mary's Church Almeley on Wednesday (18 th June) at 19.00 and at St George’s church, Woolhope Village on Thursday (19th June)also at 19.00.

Born in Finale, Italy, Carlo is now full time professor at the ‘G F Ghedini National’ Conservatory in Cuneo, south of Turin. He began playing guitar at an early age and has won awards both at home in Italy and internationally. He has performed across the Americas, Europe, Africa in such prestigious venues as the Kennedy Centre in Washington, as well as in Milan and Rome. He performed for us at Colwall last year and returns by popular demand.

From last year’s MIQP, Colwall concert our harshest critic said’ this was a performance of the highest professional quality. Carlo played brilliantly from memory without the need for any music and we were so fortunate in Herefordshire that Carlo found us‘
