St Andrews Church, Alford

We all have our preferred genre of music and expectation of how some songs are sung. But I've found that sometimes when wandering through music sites looking for a particular version of a worship song or some track heard briefly but not fully listened to, that I stumble of sounds which cause me to stop, listen and think - that allow expression of thought, even prayer, that I previously had not tried. In doing so I've often been helped and lifted. Here's two such for others to consider and I hope they do the same for you.

Our good friends at St Andrews Church, Alford had a wonderful time. 40 guests, 14 pipers & drummers honoured Robert Burns with a delicious all-Scottish menu: Cullen Skink, Scotch Broth, Cock-a-Leekie and Alford Vegetable soups, haggis, neeps and tatties, and a Scotch Trifle!

The band played a selection of Burns’ airs, and Scottish favourites, which the whole village probably heard , too. All in all, a remarkable community event.
