Catholics from across Scotland are invited to gather at Scotland’s National Marian Shrine for the annual National Pilgrimage. This year’s celebration will mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi. Archbishop William Nolan will be the principal celebrant and homilist.

The annual Venerable Margaret Sinclair Pilgrimage brings people together to pray for her Beatification. Margaret is entombed within the Sacred Heart Chapel at St Patrick’s Church.

The day will include refreshments, a Holy Hour and Benediction, a reflection from Canon Jock Dalrymple, and Holy Mass celebrated by Archbishop Leo Cushley.

The Funeral Mass will be in St Margaret's Church, on Friday 4th September 2026 at 10:00am followed by interment at St Joseph's Cemetery at 11:15am.

The funeral arrangements for Miss Margaret Ann Brogan who passed on Friday 14th August 2026, aged 67 Years, are as follows:

The funeral cortège will leave from the family home at 5:40pm and will be received into St Margarets Church, on Thursday 27th August 2026 for 6:00pm where a Rosary will take place.

The Funeral Mass will be in St Margaret's Church, on Friday 28th August 2026 at 10:00am followed by cremation at Holytown Crematorium at 11:30am.

The Annual Vocations Mass takes place Tuesday, 25th August at 7.00pm in Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral, Motherwell.

This beautiful celebration is a chance for us to gather as a diocesan family and pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Recently, we have been blessed with ordinations to the priesthood and permanent diaconate, as well as women entering religious life. We also celebrate the vocation of marriage and family life.

Join us as we pray for an increase in vocations throughout our Diocese.

All are warmly invited to join us for this evening of prayer and thanksgiving.
