GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW MADRASA BUILDING

Alhamdulillah, yesterday, 17th Rabi al-Awwal 1448 AH / Sunday 30th August 2026, Raza Jamia Masjid was honoured to host thousands of people for the grand opening ceremony of our new Madrasa Building.

This landmark project, costing a total of £3.5 million, was made possible through the generous donations and support of the community of Accrington and Haji Jawid Hussain. We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed towards making this vision a reality.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and praise of the beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, by our Imam, M***i Muhammad Saeed Ahmad Mujaddidi, followed by the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and du‘a by Shaykh Muhammad Zia ul Islam Siddiqi Sahib of Khanqah Sultaniyyah, Pakistan.

Following the opening ceremony, Haji Jawid Hussain gave a tour of the new building to the distinguished scholars and shuyukh in attendance, showcasing the new facilities and the work that has been undertaken.

We were honoured by the presence of many esteemed scholars and shuyukh, including:

• Allamah Pir Muhammad Anwar Qureshi
• Shaykh Dr Ahmed Saad Al-Azhari
• Mawlana Muhammad Bashir Khan [Imam]
• Mawlana Muhammad Nazir Qadri
• Mawlana Hafiz Ghulam Mohiyuddin Ashrafi
• Mawlana Hafiz Tassawur Hussain Rizvi
• Hafiz Ghulam Masood
• Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the scholars, guests, volunteers, donors and members of the community who attended and contributed to this blessed occasion.

May Allah accept this effort, bless the new Madrasa Building, and make it a means of spreading Qur’an, knowledge and the love of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for generations to come.

Jazakumullahu Khayran to the entire community of Accrington for your continued support.

Alhamdulillah, Raza Jamia Masjid organised the Accrington Annual Milad un-Nabi ﷺ procession to commemorate the blessed birth of the final Prophet of Allah & our beloved, Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ earlier this morning.

Children, youth and the elderly gathered to celebrate this joyous occasion as the procession walked through the streets of Accrington and finally came to a beautiful end at Raza Jamia Masjid, Accrington with a gathering of Qur'an, Naat and lectures by renowned scholars.

Many local businesses took part by providing drinks and snacks to the procession and chocolates were given out to the wider public as they watched the procession.

May Allah accept this from us and grand us all proximity to His Messenger

Join us for this one-day intensive course exploring the authentic reality of Tasawwuf (Sufism) through the timeless teachings of Habib Umar bin Hafiz.

Shaykh Mohammed Qamar studied for over five years at the renowned Ma'had al-Fath al-Islami in Damascus, where he benefited from some of the leading scholars of the age, including Shaykh Abd al-Razzaq al-Halabi, Shaykh Dr. Nur al-Din 'Itr, and Shaykh Muhammad Sa'id Ramadan al-Buti, among others.

For the past five years, Shaykh Mohammed Qamar has been living in Tarim, Yemen, where he teaches at Dar al-Mustafa.

In an age where Tasawwuf is often misunderstood and spiritual authority is frequently claimed without merit, this course provides a clear, Qur'an- and Sunnah-based understanding of the path of spiritual purification. It also equips students with the essential qualities by which genuine spiritual guides and teachers are recognised, helping distinguish authentic guidance from false claims.

Topics covered:
• The true definition and essence of Tasawwuf.
• Why spiritual purification is central to Islam.
• The inseparable link between Tasawwuf, the Qur'an, and the Sunnah.
• The ten defining traits of the true people of Tasawwuf:
• Knowledge of the Qur'an and Sunnah
• Purification of the heart
• Sincerity (Ikhlāṣ)
• Truthfulness (Ṣidq)
• Humility
• Honouring the righteous and eliminating envy
• Abundant remembrance of Allah (Dhikr)
• Excellence in da'wah and avoiding fruitless argumentation
• Responding to evil with goodness
• Loving Allah above all else
• The qualities to seek in a genuine spiritual guide (Shaykh) and how to avoid being misled by false claimants.

Whether you are beginning your journey or seeking to deepen your understanding, this course offers practical guidance for anyone wishing to cultivate a heart that is closer to Allah and a character that reflects the Prophetic example.
