Today Sharmann began a series of sermons on the story of Joseph. The reading was from Genesis chapter 50, verses 15 to 20 and how Joseph reassured his brothers after the death of their father, Jacob. Today was also the Annual Stated Meeting when we looked at the accounts for the last year which clearly highlighted the difficulty of running a church with a declining, elderly congregation. Prayers and financial help required!

It was 'Meet and Munch' time again today in the MacRobert Hall. There was a delicious range of soups accompanied with homemade bread and scones. This was followed by tea and coffee and some lovely home baking. Rev Sharmann talked about some of the differences between life in Zimbabwe and Scotland. Donations came to £83. Next 'Meet and Munch' is Wednesday 6th May.

Our 'Meet and Munch' in the MacRobert Hall was another success on Wednesday. A very helpful £142 was raised but more importantly there was great fellowship among those who attended. We'll do it all again at the beginning of April!

We hope to see you there!

Sharmann preached today from Ezekiel chapter 22, verse 30: "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one"
He followed with a powerful sermon on the need for prayer in a troubled world.
