Envoy Jon led our meeting last week, continuing the theme of ‘God cannot…’ He spoke about how God cannot make a loser - which may be seen as someone who is defeated, or who regularly fails. God is with us our whole lives, and through Christ we are all winners.

1 John 5:4 says ‘For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.’

Before our church barbecue, Helen led us in a Bible study with activities. We looked at verses in Exodus and how God showed he was with his people in the wilderness.

We shared in a church barbecue last Sunday, which was a lovely opportunity to share in fellowship together.

A huge thank you to Helen and Martyn for hosting, Joe for cooking, and Martyn for making a great selection of puddings.

We revisited the theme of ‘this is my story, this is my song’ in our meeting last week. Kirsty chose ‘Except I am moved with compassion’ and Andy chose ‘Be thou my vision’.

We then looked at Benaiah who went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. Portia posed the question 'what's your snowy day?', asking us to reflect on the difficult times in our lives.

The theme of our meeting last week was ‘this is my story, this is my song’. As part of the service, members of our congregation shared their testimonies and chose songs. Lesley chose ‘I stand amazed in the presence’ and Georgina chose ‘Brother, Sister, let me serve you’.

Then we looked at Joshua's decision moment when crossing the Jordan in Joshua 3:3-17, alongside Jesus' decision moment at his baptism in Matthew 3:3-17.
