Banc bwyd annibynnol ar gyfer Aberystwyth a Gogledd Ceredigion wedi ei leoli yn Eglwys Santes Anne Penparcau/ Independent foodbank for Aberystwyth and North Ceredigion based at St. We have seen a steady increase in use of the food bank from 136 food packs in 2012 to 1,401 food packs in 2020. 2,152 adults and 950 children were helped in 2020. We work via agencies who assess and refer people for foo
d packs. The packs provide food for at least three days while the agency helps to overcome the immediate crisis. Packs contain tins, jars and packets of good quality food plus fresh bread, milk and margarine. We can also provide toiletries, dog or cat food and nappies, if required. The team who run Jubilee Storehouse are all volunteers from the local area. Some bring the food from donation points in local supermarkets, while others check it in, date it, rotate stock on the shelves and make up food packs. More volunteers answer the Jubilee Storehouse phoneline from 9am to 1pm on weekdays or issue food packs to make sure that food can be given out from 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday every week (excluding bank holidays). Food is donated by churches and chapels, various groups and lots of individuals. We are very grateful to Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, the Co-op in Penparcau and Nisa in Borth for providing collection points in their stores.
