Join us this Sunday as we conclude our summer 'live @ five' concert series with a stramash!

What is a stramash?
1. An uproar, commotion, hubbub
2. An informal gathering of singers and musicians to play improvised or unrehearsed music.

If you have an instrument, bring it! Beginners welcome.
If you have a voice, bring it. You'll be able to sing along.
Just want to listen to others? All you need to bring is yourself.

We are excited to welcome Euphonia Aberdeen for our final 'live @ five' concert this week, before we cap off the summer's series next week with a stramash. Euphonia Aberdeen will be regaling us with original compositions and arrangements from Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Catalonia, and Argentina.

Band members include:
Mirjam Brady (Oboe)
Chris Burke (Double Bass)
Sandie Cleland (Fiddle)
Hugh Gibson (Cello)
Donald Grassie (Accordion & Organ)
Jonathan Wilson (Piano & Kalimba)

As usual, the concert will start at 5pm, last for approximately forty minutes, and be followed by teas and coffees and an opportunity to meet the musicians.

Entry is by donation and all are very welcome!

A warm reminder that tonight we have The Dotty Crotchets and friends joining us in Aberlour for a summer concert party of favourite Scottish, show tune, and musical numbers. Concert starts at 5pm, and will last about 40 minutes followed by the opportunity for tea, coffee, and a good blether. No tickets needed and all welcome, with entry by donation!

For the next of our 'live @ five' summer concert series, we are excited to welcome with us The Dotty Crotchets and friends. The Dotty Crotchets is a group of classical musicians who provide a mixed programme of songs from musicals, stage and screen, old favourites, classical and Scottish music.

Come along to this toe-tapping summer concert party at 5pm at the Aberlour Parish Church. The concert will last about 40 minutes, followed by teas and coffees. Entry by donation, and something for everyone!

The deadline for entries in the autumn edition of Kirk News was 5th August. However, if you missed the date and would like to submit an article, or advertise your business in our classified section, please email the Editor [email protected] before 9th August. To advertise in the classified section of Kirk News a payment of £20 is required, preferably via BACS, which covers inclusion in four issues over the next 12 months. The Kirk News is delivered free of charge to households within the parish of Aberlour and is an excellent means of promoting the services of local businesses.

We're delighted to welcome Phoebe Csenki for this week's Live @ Five summer concert series. Phoebe has put together a rich programme of classical music pieces from composers like Bach, Brahms, Debussy and more. An accomplished musician, Phoebe studied at the University of Edinburgh and is Head of Music at Gordonstoun.

As usual, the concert will last approximately 40 minutes, with an opportunity to socialise over teas and coffees afterwards. Entry by donation. All are welcome!

A reminder that our new 10am service time starts tomorrow!

Last autumn's survey on the time of Sunday morning worship revealed that nearly 80% of respondents either struggle with the current time or would prefer an earlier start. The Kirk Session considered options and agreed to implement the earlier time of 10am with effect from Sunday 3 May.
