Today as we say a final farewell to HM Queen Elizabeth II we pray for her family and for those saddened by her loss.
We pray for our Community and for those among us who have our own sad experience of loss. A loss we are so familiar with as a community. Lord send your Spirit to illuminate your Word and bring us all peace. Amen

Thank God for Good Friday. The day when we remember the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

"What if it was me?
What if it was me who'd set my face like flint and carried that heavy tree up the hill to calvery?
Who'd been so beaten that my weakened body needed a passer-by from Cyrene to help me carry my cross?
What if I had felt the searing pain of their anger, sin and disappointment as the crowd who had yesterday worshipped now mocked.
Then suddenly with tears I fall to my knees as I realise He did it instead of me, THAT IT WILL NEVER BE ME!
I'll never have to face the agony and condemnation and grief that afflicted my saviour and Lord as He died on that tree. I realise that a love so vast is for me! The curse is broken, the way made, the curtain torn, all for me.....and you. How will you and I respond to this love , what should we do?
May my saviour remain worshipped loved and adored whilst I praise Him and wait, I serve, I worship, He forgives.
And He and I wait for the togetherness of Resurrection Day!
