2025/2026 has seen unprecedented settler violence and land confiscation across the West Bank. Nowhere is this more acute than in Masafer Yatta, where 19 communities in the South Hebron Hills face imminent forced displacement.

The Hebron International Resources Network (HIRN) was founded to provide these communities — and others across the Hebron region — with hope and the support they need to remain on their land.

HIRN is a small, community-led organisation that can respond quickly and personally to those in need. Known for its agility and compassion, HIRN provides practical help to individuals and families while building grassroots resilience rooted in dignity, sumud (steadfastness), and courage.

We welcome to Aberdeen two members of HIRN for folks to hear first-hand accounts from those on the ground in Palestine and gain a deeper understanding of the realities facing communities every day. Learn more about their incredible work, the impact it is making, and how your support can help bring hope and lasting change.

Doors open at 5:30pm with hot drinks and snacks provided complimentary or for a small donation which will go towards HIRN.

We will begin at 6:00pm so please give enough time to arrive prior to the start of the talk.

As part of Aberdeen Doors Open Day 2026, Aberdeen Mosque & Islamic Centre (AMIC) will be opening the doors of two of our mosques to the public.

It was a beautiful and inspiring gathering filled with recitation, reflection, and a deep love for the Qur’an. We are grateful to Qari Ayyub Asif for joining us and sharing his beautiful recitation with the community.

🕌 AMIC Spital Masjid - Khatm-ul-Qur’ān in Maghrib
🗓️ Today - Sunday 30th August 2026
🕛 Maghrib Salāh - 8.18pm

Khatm-ul-Qur’ān is a time when our du'ās are readily accepted, our hearts are softened, and Allāh’s mercy is showered upon His servants abundantly.

This Khatm-ul-Qur’ān marks the completion of a continuous recitation within Salāh by Spital Masjid Imam Muhammed Ibn Aftab completed with the help and tawfīq of Allāh approximately over the past year. Every āyah was recited in salāh, standing before Allāh Ta'ālā at the Spital Masjid.

A powerful & unmissable moment of connecting with the Qur’ān and with Allāh Ta'ālā.

Come and stand before Allāh, offer salāh with jamā'ah and raise your hands in sincere supplication.

Come with hope, leave with barakah Insha'Allāh
