I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining
And I believe in love,
even when there’s no one there.
And I believe in God,
even when He is silent.
I believe through any trial,
there is always a way
But sometimes in this suffering
and hopeless despair
My heart cries for shelter,
to know someone’s there
But a voice rises within me, saying hold on
my child, I’ll give you strength,
I’ll give you hope. Just stay a little while.
I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining
And I believe in love
even when there’s no one there
But I believe in God
even when he is silent
I believe through any trial
there is always a way.
May there someday be sunshine
May there someday be happiness
May there someday be love
May there someday be peace….

We’re getting ready to cheer on this group of cadets who will be ordained and commissioned as Salvation Army officers today. Let’s pray for them as they make a commitment to serve God as Christian leaders within our church and charity.

‘May this weekend deepen our experience of who God is, who we are in Christ, and who he calls us to be.’

Commissioners Jenine and Paul Main encourage us to be part of the story as we celebrate who we are and what we are called to be.

Tomorrow is Covenant Day at William Booth College.
Pray for the Keepers of the Covenant cadets as they gather to prayerfully consider and sign their Officer Covenant.
Pray for peace, comfort and assurance as they kneel at the Mercy Seat, affirming their commitment and surrender to God’s will.
Pray too for the 22 officers retiring this year who will be coming to join the community in worship and reflection today.
Pray that all who gather will hear God’s voice clearly and respond faithfully to his prompting: ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight’ (Proverbs 3:5-6).

A weekend of fun, celebration and worship for our young people. Saturday included ten pin bowling, a burger lunch, a walk along the beach collecting stones, shells and telling bible stories. We ended the day with ice-cream.
On Sunday all age worship was led by Majors Nick and Lisa Hanover from The Salvation Army in Elgin with the theme that everyone is important, 1 Corinthians 12: 12-27. Two Junior Soldier's Ivanna and Leryan, were enrolled, and all the children received a gift of a book each. We thank God for his blessing on our church.
