This is the last update for the High Aberdeen: High Hilton page.

On 9th April 2023, Hilton, Middlefield, and Woodside Parish Churches joined together to become Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church, serving the Hilton, Middlefield, and Woodside communities.

The Middlefield and Woodside churches and halls have closed. Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church uses the former Hilton church and halls between Rosehill Drive and Hilton Drive, facing the six roads roundabout.

Everybody who was a member of any of the three churches is automatically a member of Aberdeen Hillside.

Anybody and everybody looking for a church connection, be it a continuing one or a new one as part of an exploration of personal faith, is very welcome in Aberdeen Hillside. You don't need to be resident in our parish's communities: perhaps you're only in the area for a short time for work or education, maybe a holiday - you don't need a reason to come and join us in worship and friendship.

We're LGBTQ+ affirming, our buildings are accessible, and we'd love to see you come to Aberdeen Hillside.

Our Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church page is up and running. We'll be posting there from now on, so please visit, like, follow, share and all that sort of thing :)

We'll leave this page here but won't be updating it. In due course, we'll merge this page and the Woodside page together and keep things as an archive record of what happened before the union took place :)

Changes to our YouTube channel and the website are being worked on too, and we'll post on Aberdeen Hillside about that before the weekend.

Our first Sunday service as Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church! From 9th April 2023, the former Hilton, Middlefield, and Woodside parish churches have come together as a new and united congregation with the name Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church. Today, 16th April 2023 is our first service with the new name. Websites and pages will be updated in due course. If you can't make it to the church on Hilton Drive, follow the livestream at

The funeral service for a member of the church some of our older folks knew takes place at 10:30AM in the church on Wednesday 12th April. Pat Morrison was very much involved in the life and work of High Church Hilton and we're greatly saddened by her passing, and thankful that her family has brought her to the church she served for so long to say goodbye.

This morning's Sunday Service was our last as High Hilton Parish Church. Easter Sunday was a fitting day, when we remember and celebrate Jesus's resurrection, and mark the beginning of all things new. From now on, we'll be called Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church.

High Church Hilton was around for 85 years. With the merger, in church terms a union, with Middlefield Parish Church in early 2021, together we became High Hilton Parish Church. Now, with the same process of union with Woodside Parish Church being completed, our united congregation has taken the name "Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church".

Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church will meet and serve its communities of Hilton, Middlefield, and Woodside, in the church and halls on Hilton Drive. Middlefield closed with the union a couple of years ago, and today, with sadness but also with thanksgiving for years of presence and service in Woodside, Woodside Parish Church closes its doors for the last time too.

Look out for name changes in our online presences for both churches in the next wee while as we transition to the new name and identity of Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church.

The church was looking stunning with the flowers from The Flower Bunch all around the sanctuary. The plan was that the flowers by The Flower Bunch would be taken away by folk that were in the church to give to friends and neighbours who aren't churchgoers but who might like a bonny spring flower arrangement - and there was a lot of choice! The photos are just some of the arrangements.

The Flower Bunch meets again on the second Saturday of May at 10AM. It's usually the first Saturday of the month, but there's a competing event next month and it's unlikely that they'll move theirs so we've moved ours! £2 donation towards materials, bring your own flowers (the lovely Moira will advise the theme a few days beforehand) and come and have a go!

This is our last Sunday as High Hilton Parish Church. From tomorrow, our merger with Woodside Parish Church is complete and together we'll be known by the new name of Aberdeen Hillside Parish Church.

Holy Week and the journey to Easter continues on Thursday 6th April at 7PM with a short communion service for Maundy Thursday.

Maundy Thursday commemorates Jesus's washing his disciples feet and his last supper with the disciples. We have a short service that includes taking communion, both in the church and shared online. If you'll be part of our online congregation and would like to take communion with us, please have something to drink and a small piece of bread to hand.
