𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽. 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘂𝗽. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Bills, shopping, work, money, the never-ending to-do list… sound familiar?

Sometimes life can feel like one big juggling act, and it’s so easy to become caught up worrying about everything we need to do, buy or provide.

But in today’s Bible reading, Jesus gives us a wonderfully simple reminder…

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗗𝗦!

“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?“ - Matthew 6:26
What a beautiful thought!

If God cares for the birds in the sky, imagine how much He cares for each and every one of us.

Jesus reminds us that life is about so much more than money, possessions and the things we spend so much time worrying about.

And whilst that doesn’t mean our worries or challenges simply disappear, it does remind us that 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.

As we continue this week’s 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, exploring cheerful giving, we’re reminded that our security isn’t found simply in what we own, but in the God who knows us, values us and cares for us.

- 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻.
- 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱.
- 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿.

So perhaps today, when life feels a little overwhelming, take a moment to look up, listen to the birds and remember…

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹!
When we think about giving, we often focus on what 𝗪𝗘 can give. Our money, our time, our talents or even a little act of kindness.

But today’s Bible reading turns that thought completely upside down!
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗨𝗦?
📖 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

What an incredible reminder of just how much God loves us!
He didn’t simply give us something valuable. 𝗛𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗻, 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀.

And the most wonderful part?
𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻. It’s a gift He freely offers to us.

As we continue this week’s 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, exploring cheerful giving, let’s remember where true generosity begins.

Perhaps today, rather than asking ourselves what more we could give, we can take a moment to simply be thankful for everything God has already given us. 🙏

Hello everyone,
Prayer Letter, Sunday 18th October 2026.

The next meeting of the prayer group will be on Wednesday 21st October 2026 at the back of the Sanctuary at 9:45 am. Please come along before the midweek service. You would be most welcome!

Let us give thanks for the life of Mannofield Church and for our minister Keith. This morning the Bible passage considered the story of Lazarus and Keith talked about the chasm between wealth and poverty and the chasms we also create because we fail to recognise all of mankind as children of God.

Let us be thankful too, for the work of our intergenerational mission worker Niamh and for her daily encouragement and Bible readings on Facebook.

Give thanks for the continuing friendship between Corné, Zanné and Evan and Mannofield and their worship with us this morning.

Let us be thankful for a successful hip operation this week and for successful transitions to care homes for a number of people.
Please remember those suffering from chronic illness and from broken relationships, those caring for elderly relatives and all those who have been recently bereaved.
Pray for a lady who suffers from an eye complaint. Pray that the Lord will be close to these people and bring His comfort.

Let us pray that we may be aware and attentive to the needs of others, whether in our own country or abroad. Pray for people of Ukraine and in the Middle East and for consistency and wisdom among politicians.

The healthcare chaplain at ARI asks us to pray this week for the patients, relatives, service users, volunteers and staff in the overflow units, Dialysis and Cardiology, Volunteer Ward Visitors and for the Values Based Reflective Practice Team.

A little look forward to Sunday with Keith!

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝘀?
In this week’s reflection, Keith explores the story of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝘂𝘀 and the powerful message it holds for us today.
It’s a story that challenges us to think about the differences between wealth and poverty, the way we see others and, perhaps most importantly, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱.
