πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ A huge shoutout to the incredible Captain John from Salvation Army, who took on the Half Marathon this past weekend - in some seriously HOT weather too! β˜€οΈπŸ”₯

John described himself as β€œthe least sporty person” he knows, but that didn’t stop him from setting himself an amazing challenge and crossing the finish line in an impressive ⏱️ 2hrs 15m 52s!

Even more amazing? He raised a fantastic πŸ’™ Β£2,750 ❀️ to support the work of Kirkwall Salvation Army! These funds will help support individuals and families across the local community where they offer:

πŸ‘Ά Toddler groups
πŸ’¬ Ladies fellowship nights
🎨 Craft Clubs
🀝 Friendship Clubs
🍽️ Lunch Clubs
✨ And so much more!

From training in the cooler conditions of Orkney to tackling the heat of Edinburgh, this was no easy feat - but John pushed through and should be so proud of what he achieved πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

Well done John, and thank you for making such a difference! πŸ™Œ

Well that's it, the challenge of getting Junior Camp up and running successfully is complete.

We are very grateful for all your prayer support, and a huge thank you to the team who made it happen. The theme of the camp was Heroes and the team are all Heroes.

Apparently there are rumours of it happening again!

A day filled with activity at our Children's camp. Bible stories, singing and craft this morning; paddle boarding and coasteering this afternoon. A chippy tea and a movie night. All in all, a great day at camp. Thank you for your prayers.

Today is an exciting day for our division. For the first time since 2019 we are holding a children's camp. Later today 23 children, from as far as Stornoway in the North West and Arbroath in Soth East, will arrive for fun, games, bible teaching as well as paddleboarding and coasteering.

We are so grateful for leaders who will make this happen and for all the work that has gone on in preparation. Please pray for the leaders and the children this weekend.
