All of our Leaders attended yesterday’s training day and Dedication Service - we are so excited to show the girls and teach them all the new routines and competition items. 🐝❤️💙💜

🐝 Yesterday, we held our annual Leaders’ Dedication Service and training afternoon as we prepare for our exciting new session.

During the service we were delighted to have a new trophy dedicated - the Edith Mowat Rose Bowl.

The new trophy honours Edith’s dedication and life long commitment to the Aberdeen Division and the previous 1st Aberdeen company, after she joined the Girls Guildry back in 1928 and worked her way up the ranks.

The Girls Guildry then became Girls Brigade Scotland and Edith took on many roles over the years including serving as the Divisional President for 6 years from 1976 to 1982.
She remained an Honorary Vice-President for the rest of her life, attending all Divisional Displays, AGMs and Parades.

Edith sadly passed away in December 2023 at the wonderful age of 105.

Her legacy within the organisation remains and with this new trophy, she will continue to be remembered for many generations to come.

We were delighted to welcome her daughter Lesley, also an Honorary Vice-President of Aberdeen Division, to yesterday’s service to hear a tribute to her Mum and see the new trophy being dedicated.

🐝 A new and exciting GB session is about to begin!

🍀 Wishing all our girls lots of luck as they return to school this week - some may be starting at secondary school, and some may be stepping into P1. Some of our young women may be off to college or university and some might just be feeling nervous about the start of a new school term.
