Queen’s Cross became part of Fountainhall Church on 1st June 2023. Following the current guidelines of Church of Scotland, churches all around Scotland are merging. By reducing the total number of congregations, Church of Scotland aims to create a more efficient national structure, reducing the running costs but still integrating all its members and core values.
Therefore, from Thursday 1st June 2023, Holburn West Church, Midstocket Church, Rubislaw Church and Queen’s Cross Church have become one unique entity called Fountainhall Church.
Fountainhall Church will retain three of the buildings:
- Fountainhall at the Cross, previously Queen’s Cross, that will keep offering a place for worship as well as professional meeting spaces for hire;
- Fountainhall at the Stocket, previously Midstocket Church, that will keep offering a place for worship as well as halls for rent;
- Fountainhall Church Centre, previously the Rubislaw Church Centre, that will complete the Fountainhall Church offer of spaces to rent.
The three spaces will play an essential part at Fountainhall Church and will complement each other’s offer.
We are open for business and for the community as usual. In the first stages of the union, the merge won’t change substantially the practices and services that we have been providing to the hirers and users of our halls in the last years. In the medium and long term, we are looking forward to enlarging our offer and improving the quality of the services we provide as a result of the union.
