This Sunday we asked those in attendance one of the most important questions we must answer in life - “What think ye of Christ?” The Bible is clear that in order to be saved we must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not merely a factual belief that He existed, we need to understand both who He is and what He has done. So who was He? The apostle Peter answers this question in Matt 16:16 “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Throughout scripture we see this affirmed, that the Lord Jesus Christ was God manifest in human flesh. And what has He done? He went to the cross of Calvary to give Himself as a perfect sacrifice for sin so that we can be made right with God. This is what we must believe about the Lord Jesus to receive salvation. How wonderful the message of the Gospel, that if we simply come to Christ accepting His claims about who He was, accepting that we are sinners in need of forgiveness, and trusting that He alone is sufficient and able to provide it, you will be saved.
