Maundy Thursday at St Margaret of Scotland, Gallowgate, Aberdeen 🕯️

Join us for the Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper, where we remember the night Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples — the institution of the Eucharist and the call to love and serve one another.

After Mass, the church is stripped bare, recalling how Christ was abandoned and led to His Passion. We then begin the Vigil at the Altar of Repose, keeping watch with Him in the quiet of candlelight, echoing His time in the Garden of Gethsemane.

This is one of the most moving and reflective liturgies of the Christian year — solemn, beautiful, and deeply prayerful.

🕯️ Candlelit

🙏 All are welcome — whether you come often or this is your first time

Come and watch with Him.

🕊️ Feast of SS Peter and Paul 🕊️
Today we give thanks for the apostolic foundation of the Church—and also for those who, centuries later, helped rekindle the fire of Catholic worship within Anglicanism.

On this day, we especially celebrate the English Missal—a noble work of liturgical craftsmanship, born from the vision and devotion of the Society of SS Peter and Paul. At its heart was the remarkable Fr Henry Fynes-Clinton, who laboured to bring the depth, dignity, and splendour of the Roman Rite into the English tongue, faithfully preserving the theology and ceremonial of the Latin Mass while uniting it with the best of our Anglican patrimony.

The English Missal became more than a book—it became a lifeline for Anglo-Catholics seeking to worship in spirit and in truth, with beauty and reverence, even in challenging times.

🌟 That living tradition continues today.

Join us this morning at 10:30am at St Margaret’s in Aberdeen, where the English Missal is not a relic, but a living reality - uniquely blended with elements of the Scottish Liturgy. Come and experience how its timeless beauty still shapes the worship of countless faithful across these land—especially here, in our own beloved sanctuary.

✝️ “We will go into His tabernacle: we will worship at His footstool.”
