Hi all,

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 10th - 16th MAY

Below is some information from Presbytery on the upcoming Christian Aid Week.

To support the effort, we will be holding a Retiring Collection in both Newtonhill and Portlethen Churches at the end of morning service on 11th and 17th May 2026 - please give generously.

Christian Aid Week - 10th - 16th May

Christian Aid Week is seven days to make a difference against global poverty. It’s a celebration of our movement, standing in solidarity with our global neighbours. We believe that every person is created in God’s image, and deserves a full and dignified life, free from poverty and injustice.

Church Reps and volunteers across Scotland will shortly be receiving their Guide to Christian Aid Week in the post, with information about this year’s appeal, instructions for ordering resources and ideas for getting involved. This our largest annual appeal and supports our global work to eradicate poverty. This year, we’re highlighting stories from our work with partners in Kenya, where Beacon of Hope is empowering urban farmers to use small spaces for growing veg. These gardens increase nutrition and income for families, and help parents send their children to school. The Church of Scotland’s support has been integral in making Christian Aid Week such a successful community fundraising moment, so thank you!
Get involved.

Regards,

Ken

JOINT SERVICE - SUNDAY 26th APRIL

Hi All,

The usual reminder of the end of the month Joint Service that will be held this Sunday in Portlethen Church and will begin at 11:00 am.

I can also let you know that the exercise earlier in April to remove the compost from the rear of Newtonhill Car Park was very successful but there is still some left.
I am told it is pretty good quality so, if you have not finished all your gardening preparations, come along any time to take away what remains.

Regards,

Ken

The sun is shining! It’s a beautiful day to pop down to Soupa Tuesday! Hope to see you there! xx
