MORNING CAKE
2 Chronicles 25:9 KJV
"And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this."
King Amaziah had invested financially to reinforce his army in order to fight his enemies. However, the Lord told him not to rely on this army and to send them away. It was difficult for the king to let everything go, considering how much he had already invested. But the Lord reassured him that He could give him much more than what he had spent.
Sometimes, obeying the Lord feels painful, and many of us think just like Amaziah. We focus more on our efforts and investments than on the Lord's instructions.
* Are you ready to end that long-term relationship?
* Are you ready to terminate that lucrative contract if the Holy Spirit commands it?
* Can you cancel that trip if the Lord tells you to?
We may lose money, opportunities, relationships, or comfort by choosing to obey God; however, He is able to give it all back to you a hundredfold. The Lord does not and will never want your ruin. When He tells you to "let go" or "do not go," obey Him, because He has already seen the end of that contract, business, or relationship. The beginning might look glorious, but the end could be catastrophic.
The One who tells you to let go is capable of giving you so much more, and giving you His best. So, follow the example of Amaziah, who, despite his investment, chose to obey God—and in His faithfulness, the Lord rewarded him
Prayer
Lord Jesus, teach me to obey You without reservation. I refuse to rely on my achievements and investments. I choose to trust You because You always have the best for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
