After a 16-day Nyung Ne retreat completed, Drubpon Rinpoche left today from Drukpa Plouray for a tour of Drukpa European centers.

He will give teachings in San Sebastian (Spain) on June 6th and 7th, in Paris (France) on June 9th and 10th, in Bern (Switzerland) on June 13th and 14th and in Toulouse (France) on June 27th and 28th.

This morning, the White Nyung Ne retreat officially concluded. Drubpon Rinpoche gave to all retreatants a bracelet and a sand bag blessed during the 16-day retreat, as well as blessed by His Eminence Gyeltsen Rinpoche during his European tour last month. The bracelet will be kept by every retreatant until the next Nyung Ne and the sand can be used to put on the deceased, inclusive animals to ensure a precious human life.

Drubpon Rinpoche explained that it was also a time to make wishes for the opportunity to participate in next year’s Nyung Ne retreat.

He concluded by thanking all the participants, including those in the kitchen and everyone who helped make the retreat a success. He also expressed his joy that the Nyung Ne retreat had gone very well.

A glimpse of Nyung Ne’s last day.

During 16 days, Drubpon Rinpoche and the retreatants have been alternating between the Nye Ne day and the Nyoung Ne day : the Nye Ne is the partial fast on the 1st day, and the Nyoung Ne is the total fast on the 2nd day (no food or drink for 24 hours associated with the strict observance of silence). So one session takes place over 48 hours.

Performing 8 consecutive Nyung Ne called « White Nyung Ne » is considered highly beneficial and it is said that who performs a White Nyung Ne can be certain that he will reborn with a precious human life.
