A true friendship with a powerful mission. On International Friendship Day, we’d like to remember the bond between St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac.

While helping the poor, they found what we all look for: a deep and honest friendship.

Do you know why Paris is called the “City of Lights”?

It has this nickname for two reasons. First, the Age of Enlightenment took hold of Paris, becoming the center of philosophic and scientific activity in the mid-18th century. Second, Paris was the first European city to use streetlights across the city. Today, streets, bridges, and even the Eiffel Tower are set aglow and dazzle every night.

Paris is an ideal place for exploration, and if you are looking for a religious guesthouse to recharge, you can book a room at the Maison Mère.

Contact us at [email protected] and begin your experience in the City of Lights.

192 years ago, on June 30th, during a devastating cholera outbreak in Paris, the Daughters of Charity distributed the first 2,000 medals.

Witnessing numerous cures, the people of Paris began calling it the 'Miraculous Medal.'

Today, in the heart of Paris, we find the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal, a place for pilgrims and those on retreat.

Remember to visit this site if you are staying at the Maison Mère. It’s only a 3-minute walk from our Mother House.

Continue your journey of faith at the Maison Mère.

Did you know St. John’s University Campus is next to the SVP Chapel at the Maison Mère?

Established in 2008, the French Campus has a unique Plunge Program, where students can immerse themselves in Vincentian service in cities in the U.S. and around the world, like Paris.
