Dear subscribers,

Evangelizo team wishes you a very blessed Easter season.

For many of us this will be an Easter like no other as we live various forms of ‘stay at home’ policies due to the Corona virus, that deprive us from attending the traditional Triduum and Easter liturgies at the very heart of our Christian faith. Some of you may have family members or friends who have fallen ill or even died in this pandemic, and we can feel that we live ‘in the shadow of death’ ! The message of the resurrection of Christ, the victory of life over the forces of death, resounds with particular force during these troubled times ! Jesus himself has chosen to live the horror of human death, His anguish at Gethsemane reveals how deeply he has united himself to the depths of our human condition. He overcomes fear, anguish, and sorrow over death by entrusting himself into the arms of the loving Father, the God of life, believing that even now life is stronger than death. Through love he has overcome evil and all the forces that divide us, whether from within or from without, restoring communion. Let us entrust ourselves to Him, begging him to knit us together in a deeper communion despite the separation and social distancing imposed by the virus.

The whole Evangelizo team unites their prayers to yours during this Pascal season. The last weeks have revealed another kind of peak other than that of the virus, a peak in new subscriptions to our daily mailing. In addition there have been a multitude of new and creative initiatives around the world to post regularly the mass, biblical commentaries, monastic liturgies, spiritual on-line retreats, etc. We hope you’ll take advantage of these resources to deepen your faith, why not participate ‘virtually’ in the whole Triduum. In this way we extend not just ‘virtually’ but really the communion of the Church around the world.

Also, on our Daily Gospel web-site (dailygospel.org) we’ve added the possibility to share with your friends through social media (such as Facebook and Twitter) a Gospel or biblical passage that touches you. This enables you to carry the good news of the resurrection to those far and wide!

Evangelizo team wishes you a grace-filled Easter !

-Humbled before Christ in the manger-

The whole Evangelizo team wishes you a very merry Christmas!!

The Christmas season is a time of recollected prayer before the mystery of the Incarnation, God made man! God comes to us in the poverty of our humanity, to redeem us and open out the way of salvation. For love for us he came to give of Himself, even to death on a cross, to become bread for the world. In the Eucharist He comes to us in the fullness of His divinity hidden in the host, to offer himself to us again as real nourishment. Whether it be on the alter or in the manger Jesus gives of himself in a way that is utterly humble. He is disarmed and helpless in the face of attack, ready to accept rejection that we might be disarmed by humble love.

Jesus comes as an infant in the crèche in love for us and in loving obedience to the Father’s plan of salvation. He shows us the way of self-gift and humble obedience to the divine plan. Let us accept to be transformed by surrendering to the divine mystery of love so as to become a docile instrument of Good in the world. Let us ask Mary, mother of the Church, to guide us in humble surrender so as to draw ever closer, to our heavenly Father.

The beginning of our redemption!

The whole Daily Gospel team wishes you a happy and holy Christmas season!

What joy and wonder to behold the birth of Our Savior, God in human flesh, and incarnation of love! Truly salvation begins here! If he makes Himself humble, even small, in the manger; it is for us. He comes to make of Himself a gift, and finally He gives us His very self on the cross. Let us respond with the fervent gift of ourselves to Him in return.

What gift could we offer in exchange for such love, but our very selves, in all the small daily offerings, or even sacrifices lived for love of Him. This exchange of love, of gift, allows us to participate in the very mystery of redemption, started by Christ and completed by us. We too can participate in His self gift for the salvation of the world. Our small prayers or offerings enable others to discern the path to the crèche, where they too will behold with awe the mystery of God come to save us.

Just as with the birth of a child in our family where we delight in sharing the good news with all close and far. Let us share with enthusiasm the good news of His. As you share the good news, and give yourselves in love, consider giving the gift of the Word to your friends and family. Share with them the Word of God through a subscription to Daily Gospel. www.evangelizo.org

Let us ask Our Lady to encourage us in this gift of ourselves in love, so as to bring all to contemplate the God child born in a manger for us!

Merry Christmas to you and all your friends and family from the Daily Gospel team, a service of evangelizo.org

Mary say yes! How about you?

Today, the church celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunication of the Lord. The annunciation is the realization or the actualization of what Jn 3:16 says: "God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life." To make this possible, God needs the "Fiat" or "Yes" of Mary.
