Welcome to the Chaplaincy of Christ the Good Shepherd Poitou-Charentes. Welcome to all our services.

The Chaplaincy of Poitou-Charentes is situated in Western France and covers an area about the size of Wales. It covers four departments, Vienne, Deux-Sevres, Charente and Charente-Maritime. It is part of the Archdeaconry of France in the Diocese of Europe. The Chaplaincy covers mainly rural areas with low densities of population; the main towns in the region are Poitiers, the regional capital, Angouleme, La Rochelle, Niort, Saintes, Cognac, Barbezieux and Parthenay

Pentecost at Chef Boutonne with our newly elected Churchwardens, Caroline Marthews and Wanda McKercher, reading their Declarations before taking up Office, and the congregation lighting their individual candles from the Paschal Candle. The morning finished in the Church Garden with Tarta de Santiago and Sangria. The colour Red was requested to be worn !

Monday May 18th AGM
SAVE THE DATE: The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will be held at in the Salle Raymond Quiard, Chateau de Javarzay, 79110 Chef Boutonne on Monday May 18th starting at 11.00. We look forward to welcoming you for coffee beforehand and a Bring and Share Lunch afterwards. Please can we ask for some volunteers to arrive at 9.30 to help set up the tables, chairs, coffee etc (and stay a little afterwards to clear up). Thank you. More information to follow from your Local Wardens.

Ascension Day Thursday May 14th 10.30am
There will be an Ascension Day Service in the garden of Nicky's house on Thursday May 14th at 10.30 followed by a Bring and Share Lunch.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to worship together and share fellowship. We look forward to welcoming you.

Churches Together - Day Out to Beaussais and Prailles (79) - Saturday 18th April (9.30am-4.30pm).
Please do join us for a day out organised jointly by the Protestant, Catholic and Anglican churches in the Cognac area.
We will begin our day in the Temple in Beaussais, before embarking on a 7km walk (Huguenot trail) towards the Benedictine monastery in Prailles. An alternative short 'contemplative path' is also possible in the grounds of the monastery.
In the afternoon there will be a time of shared Bible study.
Bring and Share lunch, please also bring your covers.
Car sharing possible and encouraged!
Please let Florence Lorrain know if you would like to come, before Friday 10th April.

On Sunday March 15th the Mothers' Union (MU), of the Chaplaincy of Christ the Good Shepherd, Poitou Charente, the only MU in France, donated flowers and made posies for Mothering Sunday. Everyone received a posy, mother or not, male or female; we all had or still have a mother and we gave thanks on this special day. There were enough to enable us to take posies to those who couldn't join us in person.
Thanks to the members of the Mothers' Union who provided the money for the flowers and for Karen, our MU secretary, (pictured with Local Warden Wanda) who bought them, helped make the posies and came to Chef- Boutonne on Mothering Sunday to help distribute them. Our Chaplain Heather Aston led the service with Neil Harvey.
