Dear Church Family,

I’m very excited to share that we’re able to host a bookstall on behalf of an online Christian bookshop this Sunday during coffee time (it will be around for a while… we just don’t know how long!). ☕️

So, if you’ve ever thought, “I don’t know how to start reading the Bible,” or “where on earth can I get good Christian books in France”, this is for you.

There are over 300 books and something for absolutely everyone with a whole table for children & youth (Bible stories, Manga, activity & sticker books, Audio lambs, (grand/)parenting books).

You’ll also find Bible overviews, bilingual bibles & study guides, devotionals for Lent, Easter, and everyday life.

There are books for real-life challenges—grief, dementia care, loneliness, prayer, evangelism, loving your Church, purity, ethics, big questions, and living for Jesus.

And the best thing is: the majority of these books are in English (but with some great options in French too).

So come ready to splurge and fill your shelves (and minds) with good books to help you grow. 🌱

And if you’re thinking of a friend, neighbour, or colleague who doesn’t yet know Jesus, a child or grandchild who doesn’t come to church, there are great options for them too. 😉

Please note - CARD PAYMENT ONLY
This isn’t a fundraiser for St Peter’s but an opportunity for us to be resourced

See you Sunday,
With love in Christ,
Elise

Dear Church,
As today is a bank holiday this is just a quick bulletin, I hope that you’re all getting an opportunity to enjoy the good weather a little bit!
Warm greetings and God bless,

Dear Church,
Recently, I thought it would be good to switch over to a set series of Bible readings (a ‘lectionary’) for Sundays and I thought it’d be great to use the historic readings of the ancient church. In this scheme, each Sunday has its own theme which is supported by two Bible readings and a theme prayer (called a Collect) ... you can even think of it as a year-long sermon series.
My hope is that these theme prayers will give us something extra to take away that might remind us, during the week, of what God had said to us on Sunday.
Although these collects can be quite daunting at first, they all follow the same pattern and can be quite spiritually helpful once you know what they’re doing. A collect is all one (longwinded) sentence in four of five parts:
1. They address God – who we pray to
2. They mention some attribute of God or action of his that gives us confidence to ask for what we need
3. They ask God to do something
4. Sometimes they say what they hope the result of God’s answer will be
5. They end by reminding us of Jesus’ ongoing ministry in heaven.
For example, this coming Sunday our prayer is: Almighty God, you show the light of your truth to those who are in error, so that they may return to the way of righteousness: grant that all who are welcomed into the fellowship of Christ’s religion may reject everything that is contrary to their profession of faith, and follow all things that agree with it; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Warm greetings and God bless,
Ben.
