Shenten Dargye Ling

Shenten Dargye Ling Official page of Shenten Dargye Ling, a Yungdrung Bön Spiritual Center in France.

English :

With the inspiration of furthering the critically-needed preservation of Yungdrung Bon, the indigenous religious culture of Tibet and one of the most ancient religions still alive in the world today, H.E. Yongdzin Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche founded a new Bon monastery, Shenten Dargye Ling, in France. Receiving the status of a religious congregation recognized by the French government on 30th June 2006, Shenten Dargye Ling marks a new and historical development for the Yungdrung Bon tradition. Congregation Shenten Dargye Ling expects to develop as a hub which will be a vital presence in preserving Bon religion and culture, a centre for education but also a home where practitioners can enrich their spiritual knowledge and a place where practical aspects of this ancient tradition – medicine, art, language and so on – can be studied alongside major academic and religious activities. The following are outlines of some projects and programs initiated by the Congregation:
- A library consisting of a full set of the Bonpo Kanjur and Katen together with some other collected works; there is an ongoing program for the extension of the library.
- To create and maintain a digital and book archive of the teachings given by H.E. Yongdzin Rinpoche in Europe and U.S. over the last 17 years as well as of important teachings by other Bonpo Lamas.
- Transcription of teachings/lectures and translations of Tibetan texts into English and/or French.
- Spring, summer, autumn and winter teaching and practice programs along with additional weekend programs.
- Programs on Tibetan Bonpo arts, medicine and healing.
- To convene academic conferences on the Bon tradition.
- To conduct scientific, experimental research on specific fields related to this tradition.

These photos offer a few glimpses of the day and the shared moments we were fortunate to experience together. The pictures are not in chronological order of the day.

Consecration of the stupa of Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche – first in its short form, now completed in its extended ritual. This practice invokes the emanation of Buddha Tonpa Shenrab and the mandala of “Wangden Düchen Khorlo,” the glorious wheel of powerful divinity. The ceremony culminated in the consecration of the Rinpoche’s sacred relics, ku-dung (sku gdung), sealing blessings across time and space.

Today marks the sixteenth day of the fourth month in the Tibetan calendar – one year since our deeply revered and beloved root master, Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, entered the state of Tugdam and attained Parinirvana. On this sacred day, we dedicate our thoughts and actions to him and to his vast and compassionate work for all sentient beings, the global Sangha, and the Yungdrung Bön tradition. With heartfelt gratitude and devotion, we remember our precious master and continue our practice in his honour.
Ceremonies take place at monasteries in Tibet, India and Nepal today. We will hold the ceremonies in Shenten on June 12, which is the date according to the Gregorian (Western) calendar. Please visit our website for more information.

All portraits were taken in Shenten in 2010, 2013, and 2018. The pictures of the sky and the framed photograph are from Triten Norbutse Monastery, August 2025.

The stupa of Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche has been completed and is now on its way to France. 🪷
It carries the heart essence and blessings of Rinpoche – his knowledge, instructions, and compassionate intention are all included within it; and it stands as a sacred support for the devotion and practice of the Sangha.

With heartfelt thanks to all the Sangha who practised, contributed, and supported this beautiful offering. Through your devotion and generosity, the stupa has come into being.

It will arrive in time for the first anniversary of Rinpoche’s parinirvana on 12 June:

The Himalayan Bön Foundation is organizing a fundraising event with Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, who will offer teachings and guided practices on the Dru Gyalwai Chaktri.

Shenten Dargye Ling has been invited to support this event by serving as the Zoom host.

These texts, composed by Dru Gyalwa Yungdrung, a great 13th-century master, form a complete guide to practice. They allow us to directly apply the teachings of the Zhangzhung Nyen Gyu, the most important Dzogchen cycle of Yungdrung Bön. Receiving these instructions is a precious opportunity to support and deepen the meditative practices of this tradition.
