Official Announcement regarding the Passing of Rev. Simon Kok Lual.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with a heavy heart and humble submission to God’s sovereign will that the EECMY West Gambella Bethel Synod Office announces the passing of our beloved Rev. Simon Kok Lual, Chairman of the WGBS Yoakwuol Center Presbytery, who was called home to be with our Lord on 14 June 2026.
Rev. Simon Kok Lual served the Church with unwavering faith, profound wisdom, and sacrificial love. His dedication to the work of the Presbytery and the broader Synod has left an indelible mark on our community, and his presence will be deeply missed.
We extend our deepest, prayerful condolences to his family, his loved ones, and the congregations within the Yoakwuol Center Presbytery during this time of grief. Let us uphold them in our prayers, leaning on the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection (John 11:25).
To honor his life and legacy of service, a memorial service will be held as follows:
