Praise the Lord 🙏

The Congress of Peru gave final approval on June 9, 2026, to Bill No. 4610/2022-CR, which recognizes the right of public and private sector workers to observe Saturday as a compensatory non-working day when it constitutes their day of rest for religious reasons.

Congressman Juan Burgos Oliveros led the initiative, which received majority support in the legislature. The law will allow workers to reconcile job responsibilities with religious practice through a system of compensatory time off.
