God's Mouth Word Church-GMWC "Bringing People to Christ, Raising Citizens of Heaven."

“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19).

Mark 16 (KJV) - ማርቆስ
15: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18: They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Isaiah 55 (KJV) - ኢሳይያስ
10: For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Why We Officially Chose the Name "God's Mouth Word Church"

Many people have made fun of our church name because they believe it is not grammatically correct or does not sound natural in English. We appreciate both the criticism and the suggestions, as they have given us an opportunity to learn and reflect. However, our decision to keep the name God's Mouth Word Church is intentional because it is based on the message of Scripture rather than on English style or grammar.

The name comes directly from biblical truth.

1. Genesis 1

In Genesis 1, we see that the earth was without form and empty until God spoke. Creation came into existence through the word that proceeded from God's mouth. Every time God said, "Let there be…," His spoken word brought His will into reality. This emphasizes not only the existence of God's Word but also the power of the Word that proceeds from His mouth.

2. Isaiah 55:11

God declares:

«"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."»

This verse reveals that the Word which proceeds from God's mouth is living, powerful, and effective. It always fulfills God's purpose.

For this reason, although the name God's Mouth Word Church may sound unusual in English, we have chosen to keep it because it expresses the biblical truth we want to emphasize: the powerful, living, spoken Word that proceeds from the mouth of God and accomplishes His will.

Our priority is not simply to have a name that is grammatically polished or culturally familiar, but to preserve the biblical message behind the name. We respect those who prefer a more conventional English name, but our conviction is to keep a name that reflects the power and authority of God's spoken Word as revealed in Scripture.

The reason I remained silent and did not respond quickly was because I wanted to discipline myself, observe carefully, and learn something new from the comments and different perspectives shared.

Sometimes silence gives us an opportunity to listen, reflect, and gain wisdom. My purpose was not to ignore anyone’s opinion, but to understand the concerns, learn from others, and respond with patience and respect.

I would like to clarify a few things about the church name.

Yesterday, I saw many negative comments about the name of the church, and I wondered why some Christians sometimes fail to show sympathy and a spirit of encouragement when responding to others’ visions. Instead of offering constructive suggestions, some people mocked the name, while others only focused on making it grammatically correct.

1. Every church name comes from the vision, conviction, or decision of a particular person or group. There is no church name that appeared without human involvement.

2. Some church names are direct translations, while others are not. The most important thing is the meaning, purpose, and identity that the people who use the name officially give to it.

My question is: Why are we so quick to criticize and destroy someone’s vision without offering guidance, correction, or encouragement? As Christians, we are called to build one another up, not tear each other down.

If someone believes a name needs correction or improvement, the right approach is to communicate privately through a respectful conversation rather than publicly mocking or discouraging others.

Let us learn to correct with love, speak with wisdom, and support one another as members of the same body of Christ.
