𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐀 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋

“Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’” — Luke 16:24

There are moments in Scripture that shake the soul so deeply that they refuse to leave the heart unchanged. Luke 16:19-31 is one of those moments. It is not merely a story about two men; it is a divine mirror held before humanity. One man had everything this world could offer, while the other possessed nothing except pain, wounds, and silent faith. One lived in luxury while ignoring suffering at his own gate. The other suffered in silence while heaven recorded every tear. Yet eternity revealed what earth concealed.

The rich man wore purple garments, symbols of royalty, influence, and earthly success. His tables overflowed with abundance, his days were filled with comfort, and his life appeared untouchable. Lazarus, however, lay forgotten at the gate, covered with sores, hungry for crumbs, abandoned by society, yet seen by God. Heaven knew the name that earth ignored. The world celebrated the rich man’s success, but eternity celebrated the faith of the broken man.

This passage destroys the dangerous illusion that earthly prosperity is proof of spiritual approval. A full bank account cannot purchase peace with God. Fame cannot silence eternity. Status cannot protect a soul from judgment. The rich man was not condemned merely because he had wealth; he was condemned because his heart became blind to mercy, compassion, and repentance. He lived every day beside suffering and never allowed it to touch his heart.

How terrifying it is to stand close to pain and remain unchanged. The rich man walked past Lazarus countless times. He saw the wounds, heard the cries, noticed the hunger, yet chose comfort over compassion. Every ignored moment became evidence against him.

“Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous” (1 John 3:12). Those who belong to the evil one will have evil actions, and those with evil actions will naturally hate those with righteous actions. The evil in Cain’s heart was further revealed when the Lord asked him, “Where is your brother Abel?” to which Cain replied, “I don’t know. . . . Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9). In this response Cain tells a stone-cold lie and shows an amazing level of insolence.

There’s a weight to this that I don’t think we can afford to take lightly anymore. The Word says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). However, if we slow down and really look at that, training isn’t just instruction—it’s demonstration. It’s a life lived in front of them, day after day, in the quiet places no one else sees. Because the truth is, our children don’t just hear what we say; they become what we show. They watch how we respond when things go wrong. They watch if we pray—or if we only talk about prayer. They watch if we seek God—or if we only acknowledge Him with our lips. Scripture makes it plain: “Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). That call doesn’t stop with us; it flows through us into the next generation. If we want children who know how to seek the Lord, they need to see us seeking Him. If we want children who pray, they need to hear us pray. If we want children who walk in holiness, they need to witness a life set apart. Because they are like little sponges, absorbing our habits, our attitudes, and our priorities. Whether we realize it or not, we are discipling them every single day. “And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children… when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up” (Deuteronomy 6:6–7). That’s not just teaching with words—that’s a lifestyle, consistency, and authenticity. It’s living it when it’s inconvenient. Because if there’s a disconnect between what we say and how we live, they will follow what we live every time. We can’t lead them somewhere we’re not willing to go ourselves. So, this isn’t about perfection, but it is about surrender.

“Covens in the Church”

One of the most misunderstood forms of spiritual warfare in the Body of Christ is what many ministers identify as charismatic witchcraft.
This is not Hollywood witchcraft, and it is not always connected to candles, rituals, or occult ceremonies.
But it is connected to altars..

Sadly, charismatic witchcraft operates inside relationships, churches, leadership circles, friendships, families, and ministries.
This kind of witchcraft operates through manipulation, domination, intimidation, seduction, gossip, emotional control, soulish prayers, spiritual pride, and ungodly influence.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft…” — 1 Samuel 15:23

This is why many seasoned believers will tell you that blatant witchcraft is often easier to discern and confront than charismatic witchcraft.
When someone is openly operating in occultism, there is less confusion about whether it’s good or bad because the lines are visible and plain to see.

But charismatic witchcraft hides behind gifting, personality, influence, charisma, prophetic language, tears, passion, woundedness, and spirituality.
It often operates through people who appear deeply spiritual outwardly while inwardly functioning from unhealed wounds, rebellion, insecurity, jealousy, bitterness, pride, competition, or a need to control.

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof…” — 2 Timothy 3:5

Many people operating in this spirit do not even realize they are doing it and that makes it difficult for them to understand that what they’re doing is just as dark as if they were chanting over black candles.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” — Jeremiah 17:9

Charismatic witchcraft is essentially the attempt to control people, outcomes, decisions, perceptions, or spiritual environments through the power of the flesh rather than through the Spirit of God.

Dear brothers and sisters, we must not fear the flames of persecution!

Thomas Hawkes was an English Protestant martyr during the reign of Queen Mary I. He was a preacher who refused to renounce his faith in Protestantism and would not pray for the Queen, despite being threatened with death.

Unable to get him to recant, they passed the awful sentence of death upon him. To this he firmly replied, that he would rather suffer death than renounce his faith in the gospel.

While in prison waiting till he be taken to the stake, Hawkes was allowed to see his friends. Several of them asked him if it would be possible for him to give them some token to show that a man could suffer the fire without despairing. Hawkes promised, "by the help of God, to show them that the most terrible torments could be endured in the glorious cause of Christ and his gospel, the comforts of which were able to lift the believing soul above all the injuries men could inflict."

It was agreed between them that if the pains of burning were bearable, the martyr should lift up his hands toward heaven before he died as a signal to his friends.

Hawkes was led to the the stake to be burned in 1555 in front of a crowd in Smithfield, London.

A famous account of his courage says that, even as the flames rose, he held up his hand to show the crowd that he felt no pain, demonstrating his steadfast faith to onlookers. His death became a symbol of Protestant resolve during a time of intense persecution.
