ዮሐንስ 15:5
… ያለ እኔ ምንም ልታደርጉ አትችሉምና።

በቀናት ጥድፊያ እና ማለቂያ በሌለው የህይወት ሩጫ፣ ጥንካሬያችን ብቻ ወደ ፊት እንደሚወስደን ማመን ቀላል ነው። ነገር ግን እውነተኛ እድገት፣ ዘላቂ ፍሬ እና ትርጉም ያለው ህይወት የሚወለዱት፣ የሚጸኑት በእርሱ ከመኖር ብቻ ነው። ቆም እንበል፣ እንመን፣ እና መልካሙን ነገር ወደ ሚያለመልመው ምንጭ እንመለስ።

ዮሐንስ 8:12
ኢየሱስ እንደ ገና ለሰዎቹ፣ “እኔ የዓለም ብርሃን ነኝ፤ የሚከተለኝም የሕይወት ብርሃን ይሆንለታል እንጂ ከቶ በጨለማ አይመላለስም” አላቸው።

በዚህ ዓለም ውስጥ የዚህን ብርሃን መምጣት ለማክበር እየተዘጋጀን ነው፤ ይህም በጨለማ ላሉት ታላቅ ብርሃን እንደሚበራ የተነገረውን ትንቢት የሚያሟላ ነው (ኢሳይያስ 9፡2)። ቃል ኪዳኑ ግልጽ ነው፡ እርሱን ስንከተል በከንቱ አንባዝንም። ይልቁንም ብርሃኑ ወደ ሙሉ እና ዘላለማዊ ሕይወት ይመራናል። ይህ መልእክት በእርሱ መገኘት ስላለው አስደናቂ ኃይል እንድናሰላስል ይጋብዘናል። ኮከቡ ጥበበኞቹን ወደ ግርግም እንደመራቸው ሁሉ ብርሃኑ ዙሪያችን ያለው ዓለም ምንም ያህል ጨለምተኛ ቢሆንም ወደ ሰላም፣ ወደ መልካም ዓላማና ተስፋ ሊመራን የታመነ ነው።

John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

We are getting ready to celebrate the arrival of this light in the world, a fulfillment of the prophecy that a great light would shine upon those in darkness (Isaiah 9:2). The promise is clear: when we follow Him, we are not left to wander aimlessly. Instead, His light leads us toward life—full, eternal, and abundant. This message invites us to reflect on the transformative power of His presence. Just as the star guided the wise men to the manger, His light continues to guide us to peace, purpose, and hope, no matter how dark the world around us may feel.

መዝሙር 62:11
እግዚአብሔር አንድ ነገር ተናገረ፤
እኔም ይህን ሁለት ጊዜ ሰማሁ፤
ኀይል የእግዚአብሔር ነው።

ይህ መዝሙር በዳዊት በግል ወይም በአገር ቀውስ ወቅት የተጻፈ እንደሆነ ይታመናል። በዚህ ታሪካዊ ሁኔታ ውስጥ ገዢዎችና ሐገራት ብዙውን ጊዜ ኃይልን ከአማልክታቸው ወይም ከወታደራዊ ጥንካሬያቸው እንደሚያገኙ ይታመን ነበር። ዳዊት “ኃይል የእግዚሐብሔር ነው” በማለት ይህንን የአስተሳሰብ ዘይቤ በቀጥታ ይቃወማል። የእግዚአብሔርንም ከፍተኛ ሥልጣን ያውጃል። ጥቅሱ ሁሉም ኃይል በሰው ወይም በምድራዊ ሥርዓት ሳይሆን በአምላክ እጅ እንደሚገኝ ያስታውሰናል። “አንድ ነገር... ሁለት ነገር” የሚለው ሐረግ የአምላክን መገለጥ ሙሉነትና እርግጠኝነት ያጎላል፤ ድግግሞሹም የመልእክቱን አስፈላጊነት አጽንዖት ይሰጣል። ለአማኞች ይህ ጥቅስ ጥልቅ እረፍትን ይሰጣል፤ የአምላክ ሉዓላዊነት ከሁሉም የሰው ኃይልና ሴራ በላይ ነው፤ በአለመረጋጋት ወይም በጭቆና ጊዜ ድጋፍን ይሰጣል። መዝሙር 62፡11ን ማሰላሰል በአምላክ በማይተካ ሥልጣን ሙሉ በሙሉ እንድንተማመን እና ሕይወታችንን ከፍትህና ፍቅር ጋር እንድናስማማ ይጋብዘናል።

This Psalm is believed to have been written by David during a time of personal or national crisis. In that historical context, rulers and nations often attributed power to their gods or military strength. David’s declaration that "power belongs to God" directly challenges this mindset, proclaiming Yahweh as the ultimate authority. The verse emphasizes that all power resides with God, not with humans or earthly systems. The phrase "one thing...two things" highlights the completeness and certainty of God’s revelation, with its repetition underscoring the importance of the message. For believers, this verse offers profound reassurance: God’s sovereignty far exceeds all human strength and schemes, providing comfort in times of uncertainty or injustice. Meditating on Psalm 62:11 invites us to trust fully in God’s unrivaled authority and to align our lives with His justice and love.

መዝሙር 50:7

ሕዝቤ ሆይ፤ ስማኝ፤ ልንገርህ፤
እስራኤል ሆይ፤ በአንተ ላይ ልመስክር፤
አምላክህ እኔ እግዚአብሔር ነኝ።

እግዚአብሔር በሕዝቡ ላይ ምንን ነው “የሚመሰክረው”? በዙሪያው ባሉት ጥቅሶች የምናየው እግዚአብሔር የእስራኤልን መሥዋዕቶች የሚያወግዘው ስለሚጠላቸው ሳይሆን፣ መሥዋዕቶቻቸው ባዶ ሥርዓቶች ስለሆኑ ነው። ሕዝቡ ልባቸውን ለጌታ ሳይሰጡ እንዲሁ ለወጉ የአምልኮ ሥርዓቶችን ይፈጽሙ ነበር። እግዚአብሔር የእነሱን መስዋዕቶች እንደሚያስፈልጉት አድርገው፣ የበሬ እና ፍየል መሥዋዕታቸው ላይ እንደሚመካ አድርገው ይሰጡ ነበር። ነገር ግን እግዚአብሔር በሰው ስጦታዎች ላይ የተመካ አይደለም፤ “በሺህ ተራሮች ላይ ያለውም እንስሳ” ይዞአል (ቁጥር 10)። የሚፈልገው ወገኛ ሥርዓት ሳይሆን ሉዓላዊነቱን የሚያውቅ ልብ፣ በአክብሮት፣ በፍቅር እና በትሕትና ወደ እሱ የሚቀርብ መንፈስ ነው።

እግዚአብሔር እስራኤልን -ማለትም እኛን - ወደ መሠረታዊ እውነት ይጠራናል፤ በስርዓት ወይም በወግ ሊረካ የሚችል አምላክ አይደለም። ከሕዝቡ ጋር ያለው ግንኙነት የቅርብነት እና የኪዳን ነው። ባዶ መሥዋዕታችንን ሳይሆን ልባችንን ይፈልጋል። እውነተኛ አምልኮ ለእግዚአብሔር የምናቀርበው ነገር አይደለም፤ ለእርሱ ማንነት እና ለቅድስናው እና ለፍቅሩ ምላሽ የምንሰጥበት መንገድ ነው።

Now, what is God “testifying” against His people? In the surrounding verses, God critiques Israel’s sacrifices—not because He despises them, but because their sacrifices had become empty rituals. The people were performing acts of worship without engaging their hearts. They were going through the motions, offering sacrifices as though God needed them, as though He were dependent on their offerings of bulls and goats. But God is not dependent on human gifts; He owns “the cattle on a thousand hills” (v.10). What He desires is not mere ritual but a heart that recognizes His sovereignty, a spirit that approaches Him in reverent awe, love, and humble obedience.

Here, God calls Israel—and us—back to a foundational truth: He is not a God who can be bargained with or appeased by mere gestures. His relationship with His people is one of intimacy and covenant faithfulness. He wants their hearts, not their empty sacrifices. True worship isn’t about what we bring to God; it’s about who He is and our response to His holiness and love.

ብዙውን ጊዜ እግዚአብሔርን እንደ ግል አዳኛችን እናስባለን፤ እርሱን ወደ ሕይወታችን፣ ወደ ሀዘናችን፣ ወደ ደስታችን እና ወደ ሕመማችን በቅርብ እንጋብዘዋለን። እኛ በእሱ ሉዓላዊነት እንታመናለን፤ እናም እሱ እንደሚያድን እናምናለን። እግዚአብሔር ለእኛ ያለውን መውደድ ያህል ለሕዝቡ፣ ለሀገሪቱ ቅርብና ተቆርቋሪ መሆኑን እንዲያሳስብን ዛሬ እጸልያለሁ። ዛሬ ሁላችንም ለሀገራችን ወደ እግዚአብሔር እንድንጣራ፤ ሕዝቡን እንዲያድን፣ ቁስላችንንም እንዲፈውስልን እንድንለምነው ልጋብዛችሁ። ለሀገራችን እንጸልይ።

We often think of God as our personal Savior; we invite him very closely into our lives, into our sorrows, into our joy, and into our pain. We trust in his sovereignty, and we believe he will save. I pray today that God reminds us that he is just as close and as caring to our nation as he is to us. I pray today we all devote ourselves to the same belief but for our nation, to call to God to save the nation, to save his people, and to heal our wounds.

ሮሜ 14:23 (አመት).. በእምነት ያልተደረገ ሁሉ ኀጢአት ነውና።

መልካም ስራችን ሃጢያት ሊሆን ይችላል? ጳውሎስ ከአብ ፍቅር ያልተነሳ፣ ለአብ ክብር ያልተደረገ ነገር፣ ምንም እንኳን ባህሪው ከመጽሐፍ ቅዱሳዊ መርሆች ጋር የሚጣጣም ቢሆንም፣ በባህሪው ኃጢአተኛ መሆኑን ይነግረናል። ይህ መርህ “ጥሩ ሰው መሆን ስችል፤ ለምን አማኝ መሆን አስፈለገኝ?” ለሚለው መሰረታዊ ጥያቄም ምላሽ ይሰጣል።

ምንም እንኳን ሐሳብ የተለየ ቢመስልም መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ግን በተመሳሳይ ሐሳቦች ተሞልቷል፡ በዕብራውያን 11፡6 ላይ “ያለ እምነት እግዚአብሔርን ደስ ማሰኘት አይቻልም” ተብለናል። በሮሜ 4፡20 እምነት ለእግዚአብሔር ክብር ከመስጠት ጋር የተያያዘ እንደሆነ ይነግረናል። በ1ኛ ቆሮንቶስ 10፡31 ላይ “ብትበሉ ወይም ብትጠጡ ወይም ማናቸውን ነገር ብታደርጉ ሁሉን ለእግዚአብሔር ክብር አድርጉት” ተብለናል።

መልካም ስራችን ሁሉ በእምነት የተነዳ፣ በእምነት ምክንያት የተደረገ እንዲሆን እጸልያለሁ።

Romans 14:23
… everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Can our good deeds be sinful? Paul confronts us with a foundational principle that points to the fact that, everything that is not done out of the love of the Father, for the glory of the Father, even if the behavior conforms to biblical norms, is inherently sinful. This principle also answers a foundational question: "I can be a good person; why do I need to be a Christian?"

Romans 14:23 makes plain that our depravity is a condition in relation to God primarily, and only secondarily in relation to others. We have to understand the extent of sin and the greatness of the Savior is only made clear in context with God Himself.

Although this may sound radical, the Bible is filled with similar claims: in Hebrews 11:6 we are told that “without faith it is impossible to please God.” In Romans 4:20, faith is correlated with giving glory to God. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 we are told, “whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” If you do something good – apart from faith in God – your motive in doing so is not primarily to glorify God, but must be either to glorify yourself or to justify yourself.

I pray for us today that we repent not only of our evil actions, but of our good actions done for self-justifying or self-glorifying motives.

1 ዮሐንስ 3፥22-23 (አመት)

ትእዛዞቹንም ስለምንጠብቅና በፊቱም ደስ የሚያሰኘውን ስለምናደርግ የምንለምነውን ሁሉ ከእርሱ እንቀበላለን።
ትእዛዙም በልጁ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ እንድናምንና እርሱ እንዳዘዘንም እርስ በርሳችን እንድንዋደድ ነው።

በዚህ የዮሐንስ መልእክት ውስጥ ጨምሮ በብዙ የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ክፍሎች ከክርስቶስ ጋር ያለን ግንኙነት እና ለክርስቶስ ያለን ምላሽ ሌሎችን ከመውደድ ጋር የተያያዘ መሆኑን እናያለን። ግን ሌሎችን መውደድ ማለት ምን ማለት ነው? ምን ይመስላል? ክርስቶስ ያዘዘው ፍቅር በዮሐንስ 15፡12-13 እንደተመለከተው ከራስ ወዳድነት ነፃ በሆነ መስዋዕትነት ይገለጻል። ኤፌሶን 4:32 ደግሞ እርስ በርሳችን መዋደድ ርኅራኄና ይቅር ባይነት ማሳየትን ይጨምራል ይለናል። በዮሐንስ 13፡34-35 ውስጥ፣ የክርስቶስ እርስ በርስ እንድንዋደድ የሰጠው ትእዛዝ በአማኞች መካከል አንድነት እና የማህበረሰብ ስሜት ለመፍጠር እንደሆነ እናያለን። በገላትያ 5፡13 በክርስቲያናዊ አውድ ውስጥ መዋደድ የሚገለጠው በአገልግሎት እና በመደጋገፍ እንደሆነ ይነግረናል። 1ኛ ቆሮንቶስ 13፣ እርስ በርሳችን መዋደድ ማለት ትዕግሥትንና ትሕትናን በመለማመድ የራሳችንን ጉድለት በመገንዘብ ለሌሎች ጸጋን በመስጠት ነው። በክርስቲያናዊ አውድ እርስ በርስ መዋደድ ሸክምም ዕድልም ነው። ይህንን የታዘዝነውን አይነት መዋደድ ለማሳየት ለእያንዳንዱ ቀን የክርስቶስ ጸጋ ያስፈልገናል። እርስ በርሳችን መዋደድ ቃላቶቻችንን፣ ድርጊቶቻችንን እና አስተሳሰባችንን ይቀርፃል። ዛሬ ጌታ ልብሽ ወደ ፍቅር እንዲያዘነብል እጸልይልሻለሁ።

1 John 3:22-23
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us

We see in many parts of the Bible, including here in the epistle of John, that our relationship and response to Christ is heavily involved with loving others. But what does it really mean to love others? What does that look like? The love Christ commands is characterized by selflessness and sacrifice as indicated in John 15:12-13. Ephesians 4:32 tells us that loving one another involves showing compassion and forgiveness. In John 13:34-35, we see that Christ’s commandment to love one another is meant to create unity and a sense of community among believers. Galatians 5:13 tells us that love in the Christian context is demonstrated through service and support. 1 Corinthians 13, often referred to as the "Love Chapter," tells us that loving one another means practicing patience and humility, recognizing our own imperfections while extending grace to others. Loving one another in the Christian context is both a burden and a privilege; one we need the grace of Christ for each day. Loving one another shapes our words, actions, and thoughts. I pray today the Lord inclines your heart to love, as He has loved you so wholly.
