THE CHURCH IS A TEAM
And it is a team that MUST work together to accomplish all that Jesus has for it.
Unfortunately, the church often does not work as a team.
Pastors tend to think that all of the ministry through the church should be done by the church members. Church members tend to think that all of the ministry of the church should be done by the pastor.
Meanwhile, the lost non-Christians are the ones outside the church who are being harassed by the storms of satan and need ministered to.
The true picture of MINISTRY is that it is done by a TEAM-- church leaders AND church members.
Not either/or, but both/and; BOTH church leaders AND church members. This is what the Bible says,
"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of ministry, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-13)
For the church to do ALL that Christ has for it AND to reach the lost world, it MUST function as a T-E-A-M:
T - Together
E - Everyone
A - Achieves
M - More
Teams always achieve more than individuals, because teams are made up of many individuals with many gifts and many strengths that make up for our many weaknesses.
Every good team needs good leaders. Not to sit back and bark their own orders, but to rise up and follow The King's orders so that they can help others do the same.
The church is a TEAM, and we MUST work together.
