On Sunday 27 September, people all around the world will gather to pray for the victims and survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking (MSHT).

Praying for those who have been trafficked is a powerful way to stand with survivors and to advocate for an end to exploitation. In this way, we walk alongside victims and survivors and give them a voice through the prayers we offer to God.

At The Salvation Army, we believe that everyone should be able to live in peace without being exploited and we open our hearts and minds and ask the Lord to hear our prayers to protect the vulnerable throughout communities across the world. 🙏

In a busy, always-connected world, it can be hard to slow down and be present. Whether it's time with loved ones, moments of wonder, or quiet reflection, the things that matter most often need our full attention.

For Christians, this is also a reminder to make space for God. As Psalm 46:10 says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God.’

Perhaps today is an opportunity to put down the distractions for a moment, look up, and reconnect with what matters most.

Watch a selection of video highlights from 2021, when the pandemic prevented us from meeting and singing together for most of the year. These include the ISS singing as a virtual choir and pre-recorded online concerts, with readings and thoughts from members of the ISS, for each of the places that we had planned to visit during the year. A special moment for us was our first rehearsal together in person in September and we share the first song that we sang together - Still.
