Yesterday we had two excellent Masses for Palm Sunday. There is more to come in Alfaz - Maundy Thursday at 11 am, Good Friday 11am and glorious Easter Sunday at the usual Sunday time of 9.30 in Alfaz and noon at El Campello. Diocese in Europe

The World day of Prayer service yestrerday was a really special occasion. The stories that were read about the lives of individuals were very emotional. Huge thanks to everyone who took part, helped with the setting up, played the music, took the photos, served the Nigerian Butter Buscuits and the Nigerian Chapman's Mocktail, then of course there was the clearing up. The service was even better because of the attendance, so thank you all who joined us. THANK YOU EVERYONE.

It is the ANNUAL WORLD DAY of PRAYER.
This year the service has been written by the christian women of Nigeria. There will be Nigerian Butter Biscuits and Chapman's Nigerian Mocktail served after the service.

🙏🙏🙏 The crash on Sunday afternoon near Adamuz, in the province of Cordoba, happened when a High-Speed train derailed, jumped onto the track in the opposite direction and slammed into an incoming Renfre train. "Human error is practically ruled out" was broadcast on radio station Cadena. "The crash happened in strange conditions"

Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone involved wishing a good recovery to the many seriously injured, to the families and friends of the 39 already declared dead. It is feared that the death toll will rise. 🙏🙏🙏

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE IT IS A COLD WET GLOOMY DAY but I hope NOT gloomy in spirit! For those who think Spain is hot ....the frost stat bleeped at 4° both going and returning from Javea. Driving home last night, well in the early hours of this morning after midnight mass (in Javea) I had to pull in to take photos of Alfaz Christmas lights, then Alfaz Nativity at the bottom of the high street. I stopped again to capture Albir Nativity. I'm not normally out late enough to see them all lit up.

Somewhere over 100 people gathered at the Albir Anchor for our annual Carols on the Beach. Despite it being cold and windy everyone sung with gusto. The sun shone brightly and the sky was blue. A wonderful way to greet Christmas.

Earlier this evening 26 of us gathered at The Pineapple Bar at the Albir Oasis Park. We enjoyed a full Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings, thank you Kate and helpers. Carols were playing in the background while we were eating. Two amusing Christmas Poems were read by Elaine then Geoff Duncan took us on a journey from his past, with old songs that we all joined in with. Geoff's reminiscing caused much laughter. Thanks to Pam who looked after the raffle which raised €142. It was great to have visitors with us. We now look forward to CAROLS BY THE ALBIR ANCHOR ON WEDNESDAY AT 11:00 and then SERVICE OF 9 LESSONS AND CAROLS ON MONDAY 22 AT 16.00.
