Please pray for us as we travel to Ponce, Puerto Rico for a ministry trip at Iglesia Cristiana Tabernáculo de Alabanza y Adoración. This is the church founded by Kristen’s team leaders who originally went to Spain with her. Argle will be preaching at the youth group. Then we will teach at their missions school. And finally Kristen will preach at the church’s 18th anniversary service.

This is to encourage the church during this stormy time. Pleas share with your church family.

This last Sunday was our last time to preach here in Spain! 😭 We had the honor to share what was on our hearts here in this church, El Alfarero, that is so special to us. This church has always treated us like family and their Pastor, Paco Moreno, is a man who keeps his word and leads by example. Thank you for always loving us and supporting us in our ministry and for all of your kindness over the years! We will miss you all! 🤗

This last Sunday we preached our final sermon at this precious church in Jerez called “In the Hands of the Potter.” The name of the church did remind me that God is always the Potter and the one that is molding us and transforming us and that includes taking us through different seasons in our lives. I know that He has molded beautiful things in us during our season here in Spain and we pray that through our service we have also been a part of how he is molding the people here.

Just to clarify.. we are not leaving Spain until March 29th but we wanted the opportunity to preach one last time at some of the churches we work with. We both had things on our hearts and so we both preached for twenty minutes. Today we preached our goodbye sermon at El Tabernaculo de Alabanza y Adoración en Jerez. We have a long history with this church since Pastora Sion has been a close friend for twenty years now. We have so many memories of ministering in this church and with this church. It was hard to say goodbye. 😢

What a wonderful gift to get to preach the last Sunday of Advent at the Potter’s Church!

Emmanuel-God with us- has been resonating in my heart and spirit this advent! I find it truly amazing that God our father/creator created us because he longed to be with us. And even after the fall, he had a plan in place that would allow us once again, through the blood of his son, to enter into relationship with him, to be with Him! Jesus was the perfect representation of God with us as he became flesh and lived among us. When he rose again, he didn’t want to leave us alone and so he prayed that the Father would send us a helper and the spirit of God lives in us as believers! We are never alone! God is with us! What an empowering thought and one that allows us to do all and accomplish all on this earth until we one day will all be face to face and totally unified. What a glorious hope we have as we look towards Our Restored Eden!

We are hoping to load it on Argle’s YouTube channel (with an English version) so be sure to check it out under Argle Smith.

This weekend we completed our third anual youth mission's event with the Cadence International youth program. Our theme for this year was "To the End of the Earth."

The event began Friday evening. 22 of us gathered at a refugee center ran by an evangelical church. It's the only Christian ran refugee center in Spain. Many of the refugees are fleeing war zones such as Syria and Ukraine.

Our task was to wash hundreds of donated toys and to store them in a huge wardrobe we purchased for them. A group of us worked on putting together the wardrobe, which took four hours to complete. The rest tackled the toy cleaning.

Saturday morning, the youth did a community project for the missionary hospitality house, cleaning up the never ending yard waste.

In the evening, the youth received mission instruction. Argle taught on the acts of the Holy Spirit in Acts as related to Acts 1:8. The question for them to be meditating on was, "What is the Holy Spirit doing here?" Then Kristen had an interactive lesson on worldviews and TCKs. They were really interested in what she was saying since they all are TCKs (Third Culture Kids). After the lesson we all watched "The End of the Spear."

On Sunday morning, we all returned to the refugee center to attend church service. No translation was provided this time because we wanted the kids to feel as a refugee might who would be attending church in a foreign nation for the first time.

Over all, this was a huge success, and I believe the Holy Spirit was moving in all aspects: in, with, and through these kids.

Three and a half years ago (June 2016) we started the Haggai's Harvest Bible study. Our purpose was two-fold. First we wanted to provide the Spanish and international community with the most profound study of God's word possible. Secondly, we wanted to meet at a neutral location so that we could have ecumenical participation. The Church in Spain is desperate for unity. We do feel like we accomplished both of these goals.

Last night we finished our final study. Over the 3 1/2 years we studied the Gospel According to John, Revelation, the life, conversion, and ministry of Paul, Galatians, and early Church history (from Jesus to the Dark Ages). It has been such an honor, blessing, and great privilege to fulfill this calling from God.

God has done many beautiful things through this study. First, the study has always been international and ecumenical. We have had people from all over the world participate: China, Columbia, Mexico, Spain, the USA, Guatemala, Honduras, and the list goes on and on. Many of these people have carried what they learned from God's word back to their homelands and are being Ambassadors of Jesus Christ! We have cherished every moment with these brothers and sisters, watching them grow in the knowledge and in their relationship with our Almighty God.

It has also been a pleasure for us to serve those who are serving in the US military overseas. All of these American families, we hope, have found a comfort in our study. Of course our ministry for them goes beyond the Bible study, but it was amazing to watch them grow in God's word with their international family.

One final aspect that we really loved was to witness God answering prayers. People were healed, many found jobs, some had babies. There were so many wonderful things that God has done.

Thank you so much to those who have been praying for this Bible study group over the last four years. Thank you to all who have become apart of our group, even for a short time in your transition. We hope your hunger for God's word continues. God bless all of you!

Monday we finished the Bible Study on Galatians at Tabernáculo de Alabanza y Adoración in Jerez. Once again, Argle did an amazing job of leading us through the study and Kristen enjoyed translating. We loved our time with this group! They all came ready to learn and were excited to be there. They are also a very welcoming group and we always felt at home with them! May God bless you all!!
