تأسست الكنيسة الكاثوليكية باسوان عام 1896، تحت رعاية الآباء الكومبونيان. وهى الان مركز للنشاط الرعوى والرسولى فى الكنائس المصرية الكاثوليكية ويعمل فيه الآباء والراهبات الكومبونيان االواتى يقدمن خدمتهن فى مجالى التربية والصحة. والاقباط الكاثوليك لهم راعى مصرى تابع لهذا الطقس " الأب/ انطونيوس ذكرى" والذى يقوم بجميع خدمات الرعية.
