If you haven't tried one of our sweet Florida gown Pineapples you are simply missing out on a flavor experience of a life time. You'd be hard pressed to find a better tasting pineapple anywhere else in the world.

I would love to be bold stating that this standard set for pineapple will change the world, but ultimately consumers must vote with their dollars. There is great food out there, but we must support it.

The story of American Pineapples!

Pineapples have not been cultivated commercially in the United States since the 1920's. Without modern day sprinkler systems, breading programs, and carefully guarded secrets, colder winters made growing pineapple in South Florida inviable. Because pineapples today have to be shipped from far away, they must be picked green and not yellow to survive the boat trip. Unfortunately, Pineapples do not continue to ripen once picked unlike bananas. So this means unless you have had a yellow pineapple you don't know what you are missing.

The real credit goes to the amazing Mislow brothers who have developed this program over the past 10 years. I would love to be young and bold stating that this pineapple will change the world, but ultimately consumers must vote with their dollars. Support us at Whole Foods today!
