The Church of St. Augustine of Canterbury is an English speaking parish, situated right in the heart of Wiesbaden. Our beautful, historic building - generally called the "Englische Kirche" - was completed in 1864 (the first service was on the feast of All Saints) and consecrated in 1865. What goes on inside (and often outside) this building? Sunday and weekday services (using the beautiful liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer)
Groups for all ages (Women of the Church, 20+ group, Choir, Sunday School, Youth - to name just a few)
Parish activities (such as the annual Picnic or the Christmas Bazaar)
Concerts (we have extremely talented musicians in our ranks)
Adult Formation (Bible studies and other courses)
Church café (Kaffeeklatsch) Saturdays from 11 - 2
We are part of the Episcopal Church in Europe and of Anglican Communion that has member churches all over the world. This variety is reflected in our membership: people come from many different countries and also different church traditions. Come and get to know us! No matter where we come from, what color our skin is or what our situation in life is - God loves us all and invites us to come to Him. That is what we do when we get together on Sunday mornings for our Eucharist service or meet in groups during the week. And when we help and care for each other and the people around us, we praise God, too. If you are looking for
a place to pray (with others)
someone to talk to about life and faith
a community of people who try hard to love each other and others
then you might want to check out St. Augustine's. We would love to see you next Sunday!
