St. Michael’s war bei der Veranstaltung durch die ACK (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen) vertreten. Leider musste der mit großem Engagement vorbereitete Abschlussgottesdienst aufgrund eines Unwetters abgesagt werden. Dennoch waren die ökumenischen Begegnungen, Gespräche und gemeinsamen Gottesdienste sehr wertvoll und bereichernd. Wir sind dankbar für die gelebte Gemeinschaft und die vielen schönen Begegnungen und freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen.

St. Michael’s was represented at the gathering through the ACK (Association of Christian Churches). Unfortunately, the closing service, which had been prepared with great dedication, had to be cancelled due to severe weather. Nevertheless, the ecumenical encounters, conversations, and shared worship throughout the event were truly valuable and enriching. We are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen these relationships and look forward to future gatherings.

Pentecost means diversity, community, and hope — and today we celebrated exactly that together in Weimar.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined the Pentecost service at the Jakobskirche, especially to The Jakob Singers, all volunteers. 🌍🕊️💛

We are grateful for this beautiful celebration of faith, music, and connection.

On Saturday, 23 May, Andreas Jansen of the Old Catholic Community in Hessen and Thuringia celebrated the Service of the Eucharist together with St. Michael’s Church at the Kreuzkirche in Weimar. The sermon on behalf of St. Michael’s was given by Ben Seidl.

We are especially grateful for the growing ecumenical friendship and partnership between St. Michael’s and the Old Catholic Community in Hessen and Thuringia, and we give thanks for this shared witness of faith, fellowship, and unity in Christ.

We celebrated Eucharist on the eve of the third Sunday in Advent. In the Gospel reading (Matthew 11:2-11), we heard a lot about what we see - and what we get. Jesus spoke to the crowds about John "What did you go out to the wilderness to look at? A reed shaken by the wind? What then did you go out to see? Someone dressed in soft robes? Look, those who wear soft robes are in royal palaces. What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written, 'See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'. . . " So it's not really "What you see is what you get". Isn't it more like "What you get is what you see"? Interesting discussions followed....That's St. Michael's for you. Have a blessed Advent, and keep your eyes peeled! 😃

The Convention of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe is taking place right now in Wiesbaden — and St. Michael’s is glad to be part of it!
This year’s theme of the following festival “Becoming Good Stewards of God’s Creation,” invites us to reflect on how we can care for the world entrusted to us and to "love nature as thyself".
