Hi everyone,

Last Sunday we had the summer special at Natascha's place with lots of laughter, chatting and delicious food.

Wolfgang also gave a little speech indicating that the style of the English church will slightly change: there won't be any sermon anymore, but together we will explore the Word of God. We had a little taster with the first eight verses of the gospel of Mark. There was a lively discussion going on. Just note: it's perfectly okay to just listen, but it's also a great opportunity to ask your questions.

We will still continue to pray and sing. We'll have a little song book and songs may be chosen. And we'll continue to have our fellowship time around some food.

So, come and see.

Hello!

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad with it. 😀 I love this verse and song!

Already more than a month ago we said goodbye to our group of students in our last service before the summer break.

In this service Wolfgang talked about the Holy Spirit. He started with a story about a king and 3 prince's who got a challenge and the promise of a helper. But who waited for this helper?

Then we read from John 16. Jesus introduced the coming of the Holy Spirit. Jesus in His human form, couldn't be everywhere and would age. This didn't apply to the Holy Spirit! Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as our helper, advocate, someone who comes alongside, comforter, wise counselor, interceding for us, directing us.

The Spirit of truth applies to the Holy Spirit. He also reminds us of God's word (the words of Jesus). We, Christians are called to be truthful in actions and in word. We are His representatives. Jesus says He is the truth. The Holy Spirit, is Jesus with us.

We do not need to despair, because the Holy Spirit is there to help us and strengthen us. We may know Him! And rely on His help. He will also guide us through our final hours. Because of this we can endure every situation!

Wolfgang prayed: Help us to give You, the space You need. May we experience your joy and presence!

Afterwards we had a delicious bbq and wonderful time of socialising, laughing 😀 and saying thank you!

Good day!

Our student team will soon graduate, so this is our chance to farewell them. There'll be a BBQ after the service. So please come and bring a good appetite. Of course there'll be worship and the Word to satisfy our spiritual appetite, too. 😉

We'll meet as usual at 6 pm on 22nd June at Fährsteg 2-4 in Weeze.

Hope to see you then!

Our last post was about our time of prayer before the service starts. In our last service we looked at one of the moments that Jesus wept.

In John 17 we find the story of Lazarus. He was a friend of Jesus who passed away but got resurrected by Jesus after being buried for a few days.

When we think of Jesus, we often have a picture of Him in our mind. Does this picture include the human aspect of Jesus? His joy, the pain He experienced?
In this passage we see more of his emotional side. Jesus wept. Jesus was deeply moved, he lost a friend. He gave an authentic and heartfelt response. And experienced an emotional whirlpool. There was no crisis, but compassion. His heart breaking among the others.

Jesus is aquainted with our tears, our despair. Jesus feels our sorrow and pain. The difference with us, He is not helpless. Jesus tells us in John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die".

Resurrecting Lazarus was a demonstration of a life that He can offer. He lifts you up from despair and hopelessness. He is here in our midst, comforting us. We don't need to struggle through pain and loss.

Do you believe Jesus is with you? Be assured of His presence. He invites us to put our trust in Him. He still has the power to change your situation.

Lazarus died a 2nd time. And met Jesus on the other side. One day our tears will be wiped away. And we will be filled with joy. We can find this in Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Before church starts we always have a time of prayer. A blessed time!

Dear Friends,

what makes a wealthy man leave all his wealth to follow a poor itinerant preacher? What is so special about Jesus that Levi left his tax collector's booth? Recently I heard the testimony of a man who had a very, very good job - and gave it up to train as a pastor to serve this Jesus. Why would anyone do that?

Our next English church service is coming up soon and again we will explore who this Jesus is. Getting to know HIm more and more!

We'll meet on 25th May at 6 pm at Fährsteg 2-4 in Weeze.

See you then! Bring friends and family 😀

Good day!

In our last service we explored the subject of joy. We heard a testimony brought with joy wich was very inspirational. Wolfgang then supplied us with a funny joke that caused us to laugh and asked us a few questions:
What causes you to rejoice and be happy? And what are causes of joy?

The Bible also talks about joy. In 1 Peter 1:8 we read:
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.

And John 15 verses 9-12
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Joy causes a reaction in us. Spiritual too: joy is a free gift from God.

Nature inspires us, sometimes gives awe, beauty and joy. This can also happen when we encounter Jesus. This experience fills our hearts. We can't see Him, touch him, hear him. There must be something different. We can love Him, hope in Him, trust Him. This faith will lead to joy in our lives.

It is on Jesus heart that we have joy continously. He will make our joy complete. Also in our struggles. He is next to us. Heaven is a joyful place, without sadness!
Relationships affect our joy. We just read: Love God and love each other. The way we interact with each other will increase or decrease our joy.

The risen Lord Jesus Christ, wants you to know Him better. Do I want to know Him more, better? He is available and approachable. He is alive! And that is joyful news 😀

Do you want to improve your relationship?

Let us be a fellowship of love and joy!
We expressed this through a joyful song and socialising with chatting and eating together.

Hi everyone,

It's Resurrection Day. Every Sunday is, but today we remember in a particular way that our Lord is not a dead God, not just an idea, but that He is alive. That He conquered death and sin. That he set us free from the tyranny of fear of death because knowing Him is Eternal life.

May the joy of the Christ's resurrection fill our hearts and lives today.
He lives!

Next week we will celebrate with each other the joy we have because of the resurrection of Christ, our Saviour. You are welcome to join us!

Last week we had our preparation meeting for the next service. We will look into the subject of joy. I thought of a fitting song, it always make me joyful listening and singing it! I hope you enjoy it! The river of God 😀
