Mikrotron launched its first smart camera!

With the new product family 𝐄𝐨𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬® 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, Mikrotron combines a high-speed camera with the possibility of image (pre-)processing in real time and in the camera / at the data source, thus enabling customers to develop new, compact and customized solutions in applications.

The "Creation" family has the basic functionality of a streaming camera in combination with a standard interface that also determines the image and data rates. A powerful FPGA with additional memory enables the processing of image data in the camera in a separate, clearly defined application part. Thus, the image data can be generated and processed within the camera up to the performance limit of the image sensor. The camera then transfers only relevant image data or immediately the result in the form of data and thus becomes the solution.

One BGA often consist of hundreds of single solder balls. To ensure the functionality of the electrical components, it is necessary that every single solder ball lead to a solid solder connection.

The only way to ensure this is a one hundred percent inspection, where each solder ball must be measured three-dimensionally. Critical dimensions which need to be measured are for example the arrangement of the grid, the ball height or the ball coplanarity.

Also, missing balls and defects of the substrate must be detected. With a one hundred percent control, it is possible to detect and sort out BGAs that do not meet the quality requirements. If defective BGAs are sorted out before the soldering process, significant costs can be saved.

Mikrotron EoSens Cameras Help Show Value of 3D Image Analysis in Fish Biometrics. For a study the 3D analysis of the fast-start escape response of the least killifish has been inspected.

Within the science of fish swimming biomechanics, high-speed video imaging is shifting from 2D to 3D recording using multiple synchronized cameras, a trend being driven by software advances in automated analysis.

This move towards 3D was recently demonstrated in a study ("Three-dimensional analysis of the fast-start escape response of the least killifish, Heterandria formosa") published in the Journal of Experimental Biology, in which three Mikroton EoSens CL MC1362 cameras captured high-speed movements of adult fish. https://lnkd.in/dD49j7G

Learn how French company Nemera uses a Mikrotron high-speed camera to adjust the production machines and to achieve optimisation.

Based in La Verpillière the company designs, develops and manufactures drug delivery solutions.

Extremely high quality standards are imposed on manufacturing drug dispensing systems. Simultaneously, such systems must meet the requirements of a very fast clock rate in multi-shift operation.

High-speed imaging was able to provide clear evidence of cause and effect of the production of blister packs of one-day contact lenses and other products.

The processing quality in research and industry must meet high standards. Many factors play a role in achieving the desired result. Thus, a constant control in the different processes is necessary.

The independent research company blz (Bayerisches Laserzentrum) based in Erlangen uses a Mikrotron high-speed camera in the laser center for process observation during various laser material processing operations.

Since August 2020, Christian Leitner has been working for Mikrotron as Head of Sales, Application Technology and Product Management.

His main focus is on customer applications and the design and optimization of customer-oriented marketing strategies.

The trained industrial engineer and business IT specialist has gained profound technical knowledge in the world of machine vision over the last 12 years.

He was previously employed at Keyence International and subsequently at our TKH sister company LMI Technologies.

By using 3DPIXA Compact cameras, imaging engineers can simultaneously acquire 3D and color 2D images at a maximum of 6,250 pixels/line to keep up with the requirements of the production lines. Cylindrical parts, such as automotive filters, can be 100% inspected as they rotate along a production line.

Mikrotron announces Concurrent EDA as a preferred technology partner in US.

Mikrotron strengthened its North American vision camera business by appointing Concurrent EDA a Preferred Technology Partner. This gives Mikrotron customers access to pre-sales and after sales technical support for Mikrotron’s EoSens®portfolio of cameras and Concurrent’s new EoSens®-based FPGA Programmable GigaSens™ machine vision cameras.

Allied Vision strengthens management in commercial area

The two Managing Directors of Allied Vision, Andreas Gerk and Peter Tix, have decided to re-structure their responsibilities within Allied Vision.

Andreas Gerk will hold responsibility for the area “Product Porfolio, R&D & Operations “. Peter Tix will hold responsibility as new CEO for the area “Sales, Business, & Finance “.

Henrik Ilsby has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, he will lead the sales organization across the different territories Americas, Asia-Pacific and EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa). He will continue to be responsible for his current role as Chief Commercial Officer of SVS-Vistek.

Our subsidiary Mikrotron officially launched its latest high-speed camera, the EoSens® 2.0CXP2. The 2.0 standard supports bit rates up to 4 lanes with 12.5 Gbit/s per lane and it allows a high data transmission in full HD with more than 2,220 fps.

This camera is the first CoaXPress 2.0 camera of the EoSens® series with highest frame rates of 2 MPixel. Users have the choice of 1, 2 or 4 CoaXPress channels and speeds which allow optimal adaptation to the applications and the vision system.
The CoaXPress 2.0 link is capable of supporting a data transfer rate with four CXP-12 connections.
