It happens less often that a German adult is baptized in our congregation, but the joy is just as great! Our newest member spent 50 years as an atheist, and it has been inspiring spending time with her in faith instruction over the past several weeks, seeing the amazing work of the Holy Spirit in her life!

A blessed Easter to all of you! In Leipzig we are celebrating the risen Lord and our new brother in Christ, who was baptized today!

The choir I sing with here in Leipzig (Concerto Vocale), along with the Saxon Baroque Orchestra, had the joy of proclaiming the Christmas message through Bach’s Christmas Oratorio twice at our church yesterday: first in a shortened version with and for children, and then parts I - III for a standing room only crowd!

May the Holy Christ Child dwell in Your hearts this Christmas!

Wishing everyone a blessed 4th Sunday in Advent and a merry Christmas this week! Some of the guys at church were excited about the tree and nativity being put up yesterday and wanted to get a photo! Sending warm greetings from Leipzig!

Thanks for all your prayers for safe travel! Silvia and I made it back to Leipzig Thursday evening and already welcomed visitors from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church Mequon, WI on Friday! Pastor Stein is leading a group on a Luther Tour and I got to show some of them our church and “Die Brücke”!

My last weekend in the USA was a whirlwind! A visit with dear friends and former colleagues at their current congregation Trinity Lutheran Church, School & Daycare - Berrien Springs, MI was bookended by stops in Champaign to enjoy time with the students at University Lutheran Church UIUC on Saturday morning for Christmas caroling and Sunday evening for fellowship. What a joy to spend time with so many special people, including a cherished friend who’s been a part of my life for four decades! Prayers for safe travels back to Germany today would be appreciated!

What a joy to be a part of Wonderful Wednesday at Trinity Auburn, IL this past week! It was great to see so many people, including the pastor and Christian education coordinator, both of whom I have known for the majority of my life. Thanks for the invitation!

The winter storm last weekend almost kept me from traveling to St. John, Champaign, IL, where I served my first call. So thankful I was able to be there in person to see so many dear friends, including former youth in town for the Thanksgiving holiday! There is indeed much to be thankful for!
