Happy 90th Birthday to His Holiness the Dalai Lama 🙏

IN PRAISE OF HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA ON THE OCCASION OF HIS NINETIETH BIRTHDAY
(Translation into English of the recent poem composed by the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa.)
Were all the buddhas gathered with their offspring and disciples into one,
They could not rival even a fraction of your deeds, great guide of existence and peace
And leader of gods and humans, Tenzin Gyatso. Your fame is as vast as an ocean!
Protect all beings with your millions of virtues until they are awakened!
When fierce invaders smeared the snows atop the world with the dark red dye of blood,
Splitting the people of the three regions and six highlands into home and exile,
And your six million Tibetan subjects had no one to cry out to but the sky,
You arrived as a messenger from our great ancestors, like timely rain.
By bringing the teachings of the Sugata on unified emptiness compassion
Across the Himalayan mountain range and spreading them across the seas,
You erected a great column preserving the Buddha’s teachings between the heaven and earth.
Only you deserve to be crowned with the title of “The Second Buddha.”
With the golden key of your intelligence uniting the ancient and the modern—
The yogis’ determination through perception of the view, meditation, and conduct
And scientific understanding of physics discovered through technology—
You opened a new gateway to happiness and benefit for body and mind.
A refuge and protector for Tibetans of all lineages, Bön and Buddhist;
A leader for world peace who shows no favoritism for either East or West;
A teacher for our times who does not discriminate between Buddhist and non-Buddhist:
You are the only one who can be called a friend for all from the first sight.
Though you may be world-famous, the mara of the eight concerns has never seduced you.
Though busy day and night, you never miss your study, contemplation, and meditation.
Though many even threaten your life, your great altruistic intentions never weaken.
Though burdened by the weight of ninety years, you never let your courage wane.
Equally friendly to everyone, high or low, your character is free of pretense.
Welcoming all, both close and distant, with a smile, you are as loving as an uncle.
Clearly seeing the religious and secular, your knowledge is as vast as the sun and moon.
No matter which of your qualities I think of, my faith in you grows that much stronger.
In an age when those with violent ways—intoxicated by the liquor
Of hatred and desire—have more and more weapons that can destroy the entire earth,
With your joined palms and peaceful ways, you circle the entire globe and show
Your concern to all beings throughout space—there’s none who can give refuge as you do.
Merely by living long, you have brought joy and happiness to wandering beings.
Your name alone makes the downtrodden people of Tibet hold their heads high.
However I think of it, there’s no-one else more precious in this world than you.
Please live, unshakeable, as long as Mount Sumeru and the earth endure!

Möge seine Wiedergeburt bald gefunden werden!

Der ehrwürdige Chöje Drupgyud Rinpoche wurde 1922 in der Ngari-Provinz/Westtibet in der Nähe des Mt. Kailash geboren. Er war ein Herzensschüler von S.E. Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche.

Drupgyud Rinpoche war bereits seit seinem 8. Lebensjahr Schüler des ersten Bokar Rinpoche Karma Sherab Woser. 1946 ging Drupgyud Rinpoche nach Tsurphu, dem Stammsitz der Karmapas in Tibet, in eine 4-jährige Klausur und meisterte die 6 Yogas des Naropa.

1959 brachte er unter großen Gefahren die junge Inkarnation Bokar Rinpoches, Karma Ngedon Chokyi Lodro (1940-2004) aus Tibet nach Nepal und dann nach Indien in Sicherheit.

1973 bat S.H. der 16. Gyalwang Karmapa Drupgyud Rinpoche ein Kloster in dem tibetischen Flüchtlingscamp Mundgod in Karnataka/Südindien aufzubauen. Der Name „Karma Shaydrub Phelgyas Ling“ wurde dem Kloster von S.H. dem 14. Dalai Lama gegeben.

Rinpoche war ein herausragender Meditationsmeister.
S.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche sagte über ihn: „He is the genuine stuff“. Er war einer der wenigen alten überlebenden Meditationsmeister, die noch in Tibet unter der letzten Tulku-Generation studiert haben.Trotz seines hohen Alters hat er uns zweimal in Deutschland besucht.

Rinpoche lebte zuletzt im Bokar Ngedon Chokhor Ling Kloster in Mirik in der Nähe von Darjeeling.

This book “356 Daily Teachings of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche” is a carefully selected compilation of 365 short and practical heart advice from the teachings of the 9th Very Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. These profound teachings have been selected from more than 35 English books that were skillfully translated, ensuring their authenticity and clarity. This book was initiated during the lockdown in 2020 during the lockdown in India when Rinpoche could not travel, and disciples were unable to attend teachings in person. To bridge this gap, the idea to extract short quotes from Rinpoche’s innumerous books and present them with thoughtful design on social media networks was born. Over time, this collection of daily advice grew, leading to the decision to publish this book. Launched in November 2023, during Rinpoche's cremation ceremony, it serves as a testament to the dedication and effort invested in sharing Rinpoche's teachings with the world. These teachings are meant to be contemplated and practiced frequently and eventually bringing joy through diligence.

As the Gyalwang Karmapa said yesterday, this year the anniversary of Gampopa—the fifteenth day of the sixth Tibetan month—falls on August 12. Accordingly, the Karma Kagyu monasteries and nunneries in India, Nepal, and Bhutan will celebrate it with an online puja led by His Holiness the Seventeenth Gyalwang Karmapa. The text recited will be the version of the Gampopa guru sadhana written by the first Dapsang Rinpoche, Tenpa Rabgye, as compiled by Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye, along with the ganachakra by the fifth Chakme Tulku.
The anniversary Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje falls on the fourteenth day of the sixth Tibetan month, and on the next night—the fifteenth—many people saw his face in the full moon. As August 12 is also the anniversary of this amazing event, all the Kamstang monasteries and nunneries should offer one hundred lamps on the roofs of the monastery, weather permitting. Then as the moon rises, the monasteries should play beautiful music on the roof similar to a rising full moon. The sangha should all gather in front of the monastery and recite the works of Rangjung Dorje that have had superlative benefit to beings—Distinguishing Consciousness from Wisdom, Teachings on Buddha Nature, and the Aspiration for Mahamudra.
Though there will not be an official teaching of the Mar Ngok Summer Teachings on that day, His Holiness will give a short introduction to the lives and deeds of Lord Gampopa and Rangjung Dorje. We hope that everyone will be able to participate.

藏曆6月15日（西曆8月12日）為岡波巴大師圓寂紀念日，法王 噶瑪巴將帶領印度、尼泊爾、不丹各地傳承各大寺院僧伽，透過網路修持「岡波巴上師相應法」。此次修持的儀軌，是由蔣貢康楚羅卓泰耶所彙編，第一世達桑丹巴饒傑所造的《岡波巴上師相應法》，和第五世恰美仁波切為此法所撰寫的薈供儀軌。

當日也是第三世噶瑪巴讓炯多傑於藏曆六月十四日圓寂後，聖容顯現於十五日滿月的殊勝之日，因此如果天氣良好，可於寺頂先供百燈。待月亮初升時，於寺院屋頂奏樂，此時僧伽應於寺前廣場集合，念誦讓炯多傑尊者所著三小論：《明示如來藏》、《辨識智論》與《了義大手印祈願文》。

當天瑪鄂夏季課程休息一天，但法王噶瑪巴仍會透過網路開示，講解岡波巴尊者和讓炯多傑尊者有關的內容。

🦚Il sera suivi par la Dr. Dekila Chungyalpa, une spécialiste en écologie et la directrice de Loka Initiative. Elle est aussi la conseillère environnementale de sa Sainteté.

Sa Sainteté le 17e Gyalwang Karmapa est le chef de la lignée Karma Kagyu du bouddhisme tibétain, vieille de 900 ans, et le guide de millions de bouddhistes dans le monde. En tant qu'écologiste passionné, il intègre régulièrement ce thème dans ses enseignements et dans le travail de sa vie.

Il a par exemple créé le mouvement Khoryug et sa conférence annuelle pour encourager les communautés bouddhistes et les monastères de la région himalayenne à agir de manière durable et respectueuse de l'environnement.

Sa Sainteté s'est exprimée à l'université de Yale et auprès de nombreux médias sur la menace qui pèse sur l'environnement himalayen et est l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages, tels que Interconnected : Embrasser la vie dans notre société mondiale (2017).
