If you are looking to join with other Christians to share, learn, grow, support and be supported this is the group for you. From Jesus walking daily with his disciples, to the early church in Acts, and right up to today; Christians have always been together. Not only do global pandemics prohibit us gathering, but we are often dispersed as we migrate around the world. Living and working in differen
t countries - often amongst people who do not speak our language - we can find it difficult to meet with our Christian family. That's where the International Christian Community (UCC) comes in. We aim to be a diverse, inter-national, cross-cultural, non-denominational community that supports each other across time and space. We are non-fundamentalist, mainstream Christians who believe in focusing on the gospel: God loves humanity so much that He died for them and seeks to have a personal relationship with each and every person. Being mainstream Christians, our core beliefs are:
1) God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is the creator who loves all people, races and cultures.
2) Jesus is God incarnate. He lived, died and rose again to reconcile humanity to God.
3) The Holy Spirit lives within us to point us to Jesus who points us to the Father. The Spirit empowers us to live for God, to interpret scripture and bring others into relationship with the Father and Son.
4) The bible is inspired by God. It is the primary source by which we come to know Jesus and God. All scriptures must be interpreted in the context of God's community.
5) Beyond the four core beliefs listed above, we believe in difference. God has created differences in culture, race, gender, and therefore in theology. As such, we believe in disagreeing sometimes. It is natural and right that we have differing opinions on a wide range of issues. We reject dogmatism, fundamentalism and bigotry of any kind. Our members are encouraged to hold a range of different opinions and yet to be part of our community.
