Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from 1 Samuel 17:50, and it reads: So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.

Beloved, the statement “But there was no sword in the hand of David” caught my attention the first time I read this scripture. It said that David struck and killed Goliath, and there was no sword in his hands. According to Bible historians, Goliath's estimated weight was around 264 kilograms (580 pounds), while the estimated weight of his armor is said to be about 68 kilograms (150 pounds).

How could someone who had no sword in his hands be able to kill such a giant figure carrying so much armour on him? The Holy Spirit gave me a clue in Ephesians 6:17, which reads: Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. The Holy Spirit has a sword that He uses through us on the day of battle whenever we come face to face with the enemy.

We are told that this sword is the Word of God and Hebrews gives us another insight into the damage the word of God can do wherever and whenever it is employed because God’s word is alive and working. It is sharper than the sharpest sword and cuts all the way into us. It cuts deep to the place where the soul and the spirit are joined. God’s word cuts to the center of our joints and our bones – Hebrews 4:12.

The Word is so sharp that it can cut through anything, be it the joints, bones, soul, or spirit. It has the ability and the power to cut through anything. So, David had no sword in his hands, but he was able to use God’s word to cut through Goliath to the place where his spirit, soul, joints, and bones met. The only thing we saw in the physical was a smooth stone, but the actual damage or cutting was already done in the realms of the spirit. That was where the battle took place, and the Word of God, which is the sword of the Holy Spirit, went to work.

Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day, the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel - 1 Samuel 17:45-46. The moment David said those words, the rest is history. Child of God, where is your own sword? May God give us understanding. Have a victorious day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from Matthew 10:19-20, and it reads: But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

Beloved, did you notice that in this passage alone, the word “speak” is used four times. That is much for just a few verses. It tells you the importance and significance of the theme for this morning. We came to know our God as one who speaks. Right from the beginning of the scriptures that we come to know today as God’s Word, God is introduced to us the speaking God.

Genesis Chapter one tells us that the first thing God did when He found the world to be in chaos, full of nothingness and void of life, God introduce speaking into the equation which effected the birthing of life. The speaking of God brought in the breath of life and flooded the entire creation with light. The presence of light was what eventually gave way to the birth of other life forms and beings into the universe.

Since God is one who speaks, Jesus introduced us to another dimension of how to understand the speaking ability, which is evident in you. He says that you should not worry about what to speak because what you will speak will be given to you. Did you get that aspect where He says that “IT IS NOT YOU WHO SPEAK, BUT THE SPIRIT OF YOUR FATHER WHO SPEAKS IN YOU? Selah!

There is someone speaking in you. There is a being speaking in you; there is a Spirit speaking in you. There is One who speaks in you whose sayings cannot be ignored. There is one who speaks in you, whose authority cannot be undermined. You are not the one speaking. It is the Spirit of your Father speaking in you. The Spirit of your Father is the One doing the speaking in you.

So, whenever you face that challenge, circumstances, negative situation, that demonic stronghold, that sickness that does not want to go away, that unpleasant lack, dryness, you need to unleash the Spirit of your Father unto it. Let that Spirit speak those things which be not in your life as though they were. Believe me, they will bow down and obey. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a victorious day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from Psalms 65:1-2, and it reads: O God, it is right for us to praise you in Zion and keep our promises to you, because you answer prayers. People everywhere will come to you.

I want to conclude today on this wonderful scripture which says that God answers prayers and because of this truth, all flesh shall come unto Him. Doubt is not only a major hindrance to our prayers being answered, you must also recognize that doubt is a spirit. Once you find this spirit of doubt around or in you, deal with it immediately. Take the posture of the father in Mark 9:24 saying, Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

One other reason that hinders your prayers from being answered is the motive for which you are asking. Once your motives are selfish and not ones that propagate the will of God, or the furtherance of the work of God, do not be surprised when there is no answer from heaven. Apostle James puts it this way, You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures – James 4:2-3. What is your motive for asking?

You cannot lust after evil and selfish desires and expect God to answer your prayers. You need to check the motives behind your asking. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death – James 1:14-15.

Finally, behind every asking, never forget the weapon of thanksgiving. Many of us forget this vital aspect of our asking. Where gratitude and thankfulness are lacking, how do you expect to receive more? Many of us do not know how to be grateful and thankful, and they expect God to do more for them. You must always remember to be grateful for what God has done and continues to do for you even if it is just a little thing in your own estimation. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God – Philippians 4:6.

Father, we thank you for the little things you do for us every day. We can walk, breathe, eat, sleep, think, move, hear, smell, taste, speak, and so much more. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a spirit-filled day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from Psalms 65:1-2, and it reads: O God, it is right for us to praise you in Zion and keep our promises to you, because you answer prayers. People everywhere will come to you.

Beloved, I want to continue on what we were expounding upon yesterday. Indeed, our God is One who answers prayers and unto Him shall all flesh come. There are certain things that need to be in place if we want to be on the same page with heavenly answers to prayers.

The epistle of James gives us a powerful insight into one of the basic ingredients for answering prayers. He writes: But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do – James 1:6-8.

Did you notice what James says: Such individuals should never expect to receive anything from the Lord. Even though God answers prayers, as long as there is doubt in your heart, the word says that you can never receive from Him. So, doubt can rob you of the needed answers to your prayers because you are unstable. Today, you believe that God can do it; He will do it, and the next minute, you are ae like this thing does not work. Why are there no answers since I have been praying, fasting, or giving? If you are wired this way, I am afraid there is no answer for you. You must never allow doubt but believe that God can do it and has done it. Jesus puts it this way, Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” – Mark 9:23.

Faith in God and not doubt is one of the key elements that God expects you to bring if you want your prayers to be answered. Doubt cancels out any belief, which is a hinderance to prayers. Jesus tells us: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith – Mark 11:23.

Let us stop for today, and we will see other things that are pointers to answered prayers. I pray that every doubt be erased from your heart today and beyond in the name of Jesus because our God answers prayers and unto Him you shall come. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a prayer-answered day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from Psalms 65:1-2, and it reads: O God, it is right for us to praise you in Zion and keep our promises to you, because you answer prayers. People everywhere will come to you.

Beloved, on a day like this, we are reminded once again about one of the attributes of our God. He is the God who answers prayers. You have heard me right! God is the prayer-answering God and unto Him, everyone without exception is supposed to come. God is not a man that He should lie, neither is He a son of man that He should repent.

So, when the psalmist delivers such truth to us, it means that any time we take such a request to the bank, there is always going to be a delivery. I know that this truth is difficult for a lot of Christians to believe in these days. Many of them have been battered, bruised, and almost flattened out in their time of waiting for God’s answers. But that does not cancel out the truth that God answers prayers for Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her – Luke 1:45.

If you are a human being, you are supposed to come to God knowing that He answers prayers and not that He will answer. No! God answers prayers. If that is the case, then it begs the question of why He has not answered my prayers as some would always ask me? In my interaction with a lot of Christians who are almost frustrated as they wait for God to answer their requests, I have found out certain truths that they ignore. I want to share one truth today, and we will deal with some tomorrow.

Hebrews 11:6 tells us that: And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Many Christians will tell you; I believe in God. Yes! But sincerely and genuinely speaking, do you really believe in God when you are faced with trying times, situations, challenging times, and circumstances? Or are you bowing down to the suggestions, ideas, and thoughts of the devil that God cannot answer your prayers? We will continue tomorrow. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a gracious day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear saints of the most high God. Our reading today is taken from Galatians 5:22-23, and it reads: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Beloved, there were certain fruit of the Holy Spirit that were deposited in you when you were born again. But you are supposed to bear them. Please note that they are not gifts but fruit whose effects and workings must be seen in you and through you. In other words, you have to walk in them.

They are not gifts for you to put on display but rather they are the fruit which shows your new creation reality in Christ. Hence in your walk with God, in your dealings with others and your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control must be evident in your life.

You must love and have self-control, for example, which are parts of the hallmarks of a believer as you relate with others. You cannot relate with others, and at the same time, love or gentleness or kindness are not evident in your actions. Your actions must portray the life of Christ for others to see.

The Holy Spirit is the one who produces the fruit in you through His indwelling presence. But you are the one that bears the fruit. What fruit are you bearing that are yet to be evident in your life? Ask the Holy Spirit for the grace to bear them as you daily walk with Him. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a lovely day. Shalom 🙏❤️🙏

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from Galatians 6:7-9, and it reads: Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Beloved, let me declare to you this morning that there is a harvest for you. Your harvest has been prepared by the Lord and is ready to be delivered to you. No one or nothing can hinder your harvest from becoming a reality. When God sends in your harvest, be rest assured that it will get to you.

I know that someone will be saying Amen while reading this piece. But not so fast. I want to put a little break before we get overboard with excitement. Did you notice that there are certain issues this passage raises? Many of us are quick to ignore them and move quickly to the Amen side of it and wonder after many waiting that no harvest seems to be at the corner.

The first caution we should take note of while waiting for our harvest is that God cannot not mocked. It is exactly what you sow that you are going to harvest. In other words, God will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside by anyone thinking that he or she is going to reap a harvest when that individual did not sow the right seed. The seed you sow is what will determine the kind of harvest you will take in. So, my question will be: Have you sowed? What kind of seed did you sow?

One more thing, weariness will always come in as you wait for your harvest. The enemy will begin to bombard you with questions of when will your harvest come. He will tell you that this thing does not work; He will want you to give up and apply his readily available options, which are only deceptions anyway. But we are reminded once again that we should not grow weary while doing good, for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Your due season is determined by God. So, you need to wait, but while you wait, continue to sow more good seeds. God’s Word gives us that assurance that there is a bumper harvest along the way. Don’t give up. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a faith-filled day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our Passage today is taken from Mark 15:39, and it reads: And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how He died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”

Beloved indeed, this man was the Son of God. This was an absolute truth that even those who crucified Jesus Christ could never deny. He was not just the Son of God, He is still and continues to remain the Son of God. This is the reality that every born-again child of God must not only come to embrace but constantly believe in.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. In fact, He is God Himself because In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made – John 1:1-3.

Jesus Christ is God because in Him dwells all the fullness of God. In other words, when you see Jesus, then you have seen the Father. Jesus encapsulates the totality of the Godhead. That is why when you see Him, only life is what emanates from Him. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:4. Paul writes that For it pleased the Father for all the fullness [of deity—the sum total of His essence, all His perfection, powers, and attributes] to dwell [permanently] in Him (the Son) – Colossians 1:19.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God because you cannot miss the Father when you see Him. Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works – John 14:8-10.

This is divine truth: When you see Jesus, then you have seen the Father. When you believe in Jesus, then you have believed in the Father; When you put your trust in Jesus, then you trusted the Father. When Jesus shows you mercy, compassion, forgiveness, heals you, comforts you, favours you, protects you, saves you, delivers you, rescues you, and much more, then it is the Father that has done them all. Jesus is indeed the Son of God. Call upon Him today, and the Father will answer you. May the Lord give us understanding. Have an amazing day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from 2 Corinthians 3:5, and it reads: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.

Beloved, the Word of God frowns vehemently against those who proclaim confidence in themselves, by themselves to the extent that the God factor is no longer taken into consideration. This has nothing to do with you having confidence in yourself as a person. No! This is confidence that has to do with self-glorification where God has no place.

There is nothing in any individual that is not dependent upon God. God is the source of even the air you breathe. You can never be sufficient in yourself because there will always be something that is lacking in you, or you lack as long as you live in this world. This arm of flesh will definitely fail anyone who is dependent upon it because by his strength shall no man prevail – 1 Samuel 2:9.

The realization of this fact of total dependency upon God was what inspired today’s reading. It says that we are not sufficient of ourselves. If we were sufficient of ourselves as human beings, then there would have been no need for a Saviour to come and save us from the shackles, bo***ge, slavery of sin, sickness, and death. Our salvation is predicated on the truth that we are insufficient of ourselves.

Do you know that human beings are “bags of insufficiency”? That is why we are never qualified to claim that anything came from us when it comes to our salvation. No, our qualification is from God and Him alone. Apostle Paul cries out: O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! When you come to this level of understanding, you always will be quick to remind yourself that you are not sufficient of yourself to think of anything as being from yourself, but that your sufficiency is from God.

Never forget that that you are nothing without God; You are insufficient without God; You are insignificant without God; You are incomplete without God. This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD – Jeremiah 17:5. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a fantastic day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from Hebrews 5:12-13, and it reads: For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

Beloved, we read yesterday that there is no growth by default when it comes to spiritual maturity. It is something one has to make a deliberate and conscious effort to do all that is necessary, applying the various means that will enable spiritual growth. You must do this because it is important for you to grow in Christ. Jesus expects His sons and daughters to grow in maturity in Him.

One aspect of our growth that many newly born-again believers neglect is what Peter talks about in 1 Peter 1:2-3 and it reads: as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. It says that if you have tasted of God’s love, then there must be a desire in you to know Him more and more. This desire is powered by your constant hunger for the Word of God. The more you desire His Word, the more you are fed, and the more you do this, the more the growth begins to take place. You cannot genuinely feed on God’s Word and not grow.

The question would be: do you have a hunger, a desire, a passion for God? Is there this hunger or thirst in you that constantly drives you into your closet to spend time with the Lord? When was the last time you took time out of your always busy schedule in order to spend some quality time and fellowship with the Word? How do you expect to grow when such indicators of spiritual maturity are missing in your life? You can never grow beyond your desire because whatever you do not crave for cannot be of any value or benefit to you. It is only when you are hungry that you crave for food.

Many hearts have grown wax cold today because the fire is missing in them. Godly sorrow, which leads to repentance, has become a thing of the past amongst believers because there is no desire for the sincere Word of God. Spiritual maturity is seen in your ability to do away with evil and sin, in you engaging in other spiritual exercises such as prayer, fasting, worship, giving, etc. What is your spiritual maturity level? Cry out to the Lord for help because the fire must never go out, and may it not be yours in Jesus, name, Amen. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a faith-filled day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God.

Beloved, whenever a child is born into a family, there is rejoicing among everyone who hears of the good news that a new human being has entered their world. In the same way, Jesus informed us that there is rejoicing among the angels of God in heaven when an individual is born again into the Kingdom of God: In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.” – Luke 15:10

However, this new birth does not end there. Just as the baby is expected to grow, the Lord expects the newborn into His Kingdom to grow. While the new baby grows by default, the one who is born into the Kingdom of God must grow out of a deliberate choice and decision. In this kingdom, you don’t just grow because growth comes naturally. You grow because you have decided to grow and take the necessary steps and activities and put in the needed efforts to grow.

Today’s passage is not happy with those who had been born long ago into the Kingdom of God. By now, according to the writer, these believers were supposed to be teachers fully equipped, ready to teach, and impact upon the newly born believers. The sad reality is that such believers have only grown old but never grew up. They are still babes who still need to be taught and fed with milk that is meant for children even though they are now adults.

Spiritual maturity is not something that comes by default. To be matured spiritually, you will always need the solid food of God’s Word. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who, by reason of use, have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil – Hebrews 5:14. It is your intake of solid that grows you and gives you the ability to rightly discern between good and evil. Constantly feeding on baby’s milk is dangerous for you because you will not grow. We will continue this tomorrow. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a gracious day. Shalom ❤️

Good morning, my dear beloved saints of God. Our passage today is taken from Isaiah 2:8, and it reads: Their land is also full of idols; They worship the work of their own hands, That which their own fingers have made.

Beloved, today’s reading calls for a total mindset renewal. God’s Word says that we should renew our mind with His Word. You might begin to ask yourself what that has to do with idols. Many of us look around and say: I do not think that I have any idol in or around me. Moreover, I do not worship idols because the Word of God is clearly against that. God calls the worship of idols or other gods as the case may be, as an abomination unto Him. The first of the Ten Commandments was very much against idolatry: “You shall have no other gods before me.”

Do you know that this first and most important commandment was that we must not worship any god other than the Lord, Himself. God even pronounced a judgment on anyone who violated this commandment. It was a brutal judgment that such persons should be killed: Exodus 22:20 reads: "Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the Lord must be destroyed." Whenever you have an idol in your heart or around you, you become the victim of that idol because it will eventually assume power over you. How can you begin to worship what you created with your own hands or other human beings have created.

To drive this point home, let me tell you that an idol is anything that takes you away from God. Anything you give more of your time, your resources, your attention to is an idol. It could be a person, a place, a thing, a pleasure, a passion. In fact, whatever occupies your heart more than God is an idol. Anything you can never do without at all is an idol. It could be your phone, your money, your luxury, your food, your sleep, your friends, social media, and sports games, and there are many such examples. Whatever occupies first place in your heart is an idol. Jesus tells us that wherever your treasure is, there your heart will be. Where is your heart?

You need to put such idols away immediately and repent. Seek ye first the kingdom of God. God and His kingdom should always be your first priority. The book of Genesis opens with the sentence: In the beginning God. God must be the first. Put those idols of your heart away so that God’s times of refreshing can come to you. May the Lord give us understanding. Have a fantastic day. Shalom ❤️
